at the advice of a couple very knowledgeable members of the board i started back at square one with both of the pups. i began to work both dogs separately on check cords every day for 10-15 minutes at a time. from the get go it appeared that lola was obviously being influenced by lilly when i was letting them run together. it only took a week to get her back to %100 percent recall on check cord. i continued to work her on the check cord for another two weeks. This was in part to keep enforcing the "come" command, but also to collar condition her. I purchased the Dogtra 282 platinum 2 Dog unit from gundogsupply.com. I really liked the features it offered and the range and stimulation levels seemed more than adequate for my pups. i highly recommed this unit as it has performed flawlessly.

So after two weeks of collar conditioning i let lola back off leash at the pond that they play in. she did great and only needed correcting three or four times. She no longer takes off into the woods and reappears when i want her to.  When i say come, she comes.....and that was my goal all along. Now lilly is another story, but she is only 8 months old. Lilly is sufficiently collar conditioned, but she not reliable on check cord yet, actually she's not even close. So we push onward, with one pup back on track and another one hopefully on the way. I have no intention of correcting lilly with the ecollar as long as she is on the check cord, also she isn't getting off of the check cord until she is %100 reliable. hopefully in this next month i'll be able to take her off leash, but i'm willing to wait until she's ready. I can't wait to be able to take them both to play and swim but i know this will all pay off further down the road. Thanks for all the advice i recieved, it is greatly appreciated.

I knew you guys could work it out.
The recall,or any command really,is about the dog realizing that what you want is more important than what they want. When a dog realizes this then training becomes easy. It's not about cooperation,b/c not every dog cooperates on the same wave length. They get distracted and put us on the back burner until they are done. The idea of training is to have the dog keep us on the front burner.

Sounds great! Tell Lilly to take some pointers from Lola :)

If Lilly turns out to be half as good a dog as Lola then i'll be extremely pleased. I can't even begin to describe what a great dog Lola is.

They are both great dogs and the work you are doing with the both of them is awesome. Lilly just has some growing up to do. They are both beautiful pups. Keep us posted and keep up the good work.

Sounds like you have things under control  My Mom and brother live in Opilika, so I am there occasionally. Nice place, really growing.  Don't think they know there is a slump...................
