I bough a pigeon trap to catch birds I can use training my GSP pup. I am not sure what I am doing wrong but I have yet to trap one after about a month of moving it to different locations.

I was using sunflower seeds for bait and changes over to wild bird seed.  I have been placing the trap underneath highway overpasses and railroad tressels where I have seen pigeons flying in and out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you haven't already, you might want to check out this thread:

I think these guys are using corn to bait their trap.  They put the corn out for a few days on the ground without the trap,  Then they add the trap on top of the corn later and are catching pigeons.  There are also pictures of the trap (home built) that they are using.

I have never had a lot of luck with the pidgeon traps. In order for the traps to work well the birds can not have readily available source of food. If you are in an agricultural area, you probably will not have much luck trapping. To much grain available for them. If you are in town and have access to a roof top where they roost you may have better luck. I have also heard that popcorn works much better than whole grain.
If you have access to a barn where pidgeons roost, get yourself a high powered spot light and a fishing net. Go into the barn after the sun goes down and hit the roosting birds with the spot light.
If the birds try to fly, keep the spotlight on them and they can be guided to the floor with the spotlight. That is when the fish net comes into play.

Good luck.
