Welcome to

There is a kennel/training facility near where I live, run by someone who has been my dog trainer off and on through the years since 1990. I always liked her, old school but open to new methods of training, very in tune to which dog needs what and at what age etc.
This is the gundog training she offers. What do you think?

Are you talking about the Perfect Start/Perfect Finish dvds? Anyone of these?
www.gundogsupply.com/poindogvid.html I am not sure if I will pursue that route (via Pacesetter). I may just meet with them, either via a seminar or private lesson, and see how they feel about it. The trainer is very straight-forward so I am sure she would let me know if their training camps are for pointers. I will likely hook up with the local NAVDHA chapter (1 hour away) or GSP Atlanta first. Would you advise getting her NA tested first?

Wish we were closer. I am doing the same thing with my crew. I have started Ringo on birds and just recently joined the GSP club in San Antonio. They have a large lease about an hour away and keep homing pidgeons on the property for training. There are also some coveys of quail there as well. We could learn together. I am not necessarily planning on hunting my dogs (although my nephew wants to bird hunt with them) either. I plan on doing hunt tests and walking field trials. Keep us posted on your progress and good luck finding some folks that you can work with. It was unbelieveable how much fun Ringo had when I ran him in the mock hunt test a couple of weeks ago. It is so addictive.
