I use the TriTronics.  I bought it from Cabela's, but here is a link to the one I use.  I haven't had any problems whether the dogs are in water or far away it works.  Understand, I do not hunt my dogs, but we do allot of hikingin the high country of Colorado and New Mexico as well as beach combing on the Texas coast.  I tried other collars and this one is the best I have found for range, ruggedness and it is water proof.  It also handles up to 3 dogs.

I have used Tri-Tronics for over 25 years. I have tried other brands but I always go back to them. I think they are the best e-collars made. And, they are made and serviced in the US.

Ditto - don't spend your money on anything else.

When I asked our trainer to recommend an e-collar, he also suggested Tri-Tronics. Said they are, without a doubt, the most reliable collar on the market. He recommended the Pro-100 or any G2 model. We ended up getting the Upland G2.

I have the sport basic G3 model. Works great, very rugged and transmitter and receiver are both completely waterproof. Transmitter is a nice size too.

I have a sportdog 400s but would only recommend it for yard training. I am planning to buy a tri tronics upland special - g2 it will be awesome if you hunt for grouse and such!
