You say she threw up on her training cord.
I have found that some dogs will eat grass to relieve stress or the anticipation of stress.
Just a thought.

Dogs sometimes will eat grass if they have an upset tummy.  I would give Pepto as the vet suggested and watch what you feed her.  No extra snacks or human food for a few days.  All that said, I have seen my girls eat grass when there is nothing wrong with them.  They especially like sweet mountain grass.  When I catch them eating grass I tell them no and  move them away from the grass.  Good luck!!z

Usually if a dog eats a whole lot of grass it is to induce vomiting...it's a natural thing they do if their is something in their gut they need to purge. Another reason could be a lack of something in their diet.

Mine all eat some grass when it's wet with dew or rain. The kind of look for choice pieces and graze a little. I have one who will chow on it when she's not feeling well. Over the winter, with no grass to be seen, she found a houseplant then loop pile carpet. That resulted in emergency surgery to clear the blockage.

Repeated puking in dogs is bad, so if she keeps it up see the vet.

Many dogs will eat grass simply because they like it. On hot days, when a dog is being worked and over heating they will frequently try eating cool wet grass that's growing in the shade. This is an indicator that the dog is hot and needs water.

If you are going to give pepto, give it AFTER the dog has thrown up and don't give them another opportunity to eat grass.

You certainly dont want a dog that NEEDS to throw up not be able to. Throwing up is also an indication of an overheated dog. If the dog is only throwing up after it's been run, ate some grass, the problem very likely isn't the grass it's the heat. CR

There's a reason I like dogs better'n people... .

I have a 12 week old GSP, had her for a week.  I wish grass was the only problem.  She eats grass, twigs, paper, large clumps of dirt, and she absolutely loves rocks.

My dogs love grass, but not obsessively. Just make sure there are no chemicals on what they are munching on. Good luck...

We actually just got back from our first vet visit since we got her and found out she has worms.

Apparently almost all dogs are born with worms.  After she finally took her magical worm pill she hasn;t been eating grass.

She seems to have twice the energy that she had before and she is gaining weight.  But, she is still eating twigs and trying to eat rocks, oh well.

We have been trying to work on commands but ever since the vet visit she has been acting like a child with A.D.D.  I am just trying to stay patient because I know she is just a puppy.

She will "SIT" when there is food involved.  She will come "HERE" when she feels like it.  And, she will "FETCH" when there aren't any distractions.
