I'm telling ya, kinda like animal hell. I hate seeing the veal calves, I will never, ever eat veal after seeing some of those places. I do have to say though, those carriages are equipped with brakes to take the strain of the carriage off the horse. And alot of the Amish treat their horses great. I used to carriage drive in downtown Columbus, OH, and all the horses my boss purchased were from Amish. They were in great shape and soooo well trained. She also hauled the horses an hour away to an Amish farm to get them properly shod. Unfortunately, they raise veal calves on this farm, and she couldn't stand looking at them, so half the time she would come home with one! : )
