| They do look black to me too. My litter though had some pups where the liver is so dark it is almost black. But it isn't. Belle & Stud are very very dark liver. Doddi is more chocolate. The white one looks like pac man on it's back. That might be a good name. Unless it's a girl? Misses pac man? Ha ha What are the sexes? |

| The white one is a boy then one of the liver ones (has the most white on the belly) is a boy and the other one is a girl. Dad is a liver patched and ticked. I am finding out they have some pretty impressive bloodlines though. A lot of show CH and a DC in their lines. I am excited to see how they turn out. There is a black grandparent in the lines. From what I understand they can't get black unless one of the direct parents are black correct?? |

| They are very cute! I like the face on the little girl. Does anyone know if the black needs to be a parent? I do know of one litter that was from 2 black dogs and there was a white and liver out of the littler. All the others were black. Talk about sticking out like a sore thumb! |

The pups are staring to turn liver. Maverick (aka Packman, Haus, Tubby) his starting to show his ticking. He is a CHUNKY MONKEY though. But they are all very very cute and getting sooo big.
Got an application in on the female (piper) today. As long as vet checks out she will be approved.
Logan has had some interest and the one person at my husbands work WANTS him but once riffle season is done for deer so he can devote the time needed for a new dog.
We have a male coming in a week from Sunday.
And trying to help a gentleman find homes for two dogs that lost their dad to cancer a while back.
We got listed on the German Shorthaired Rescue National site this week and that has helped us get some inquiries ( thanks Lisa from Wisconsin rescue for the tips)
Duchess is going to be adopted by her foster mom and dad. So looks like 3 out of the first 5 are going to new homes. I am sure it won't be long til the other two pups are getting lookers too!
Still having trouble finding good foster homes but I hope that changes soon as I am getting calls left and right for taking dogs in. I just have to remind myself I can't always save them all but I know I am sure gonna do my best! |

| Their eyes are starting to open. I am going to be going to see them on Saturday. We have two people interested in Logan. Then both would be interested in the new dog coming on Sunday if the other one beats them to Logan. So that is good. Trying to find a foster home for a female on the other side of the state that only has a week left in the shelter. So far so good on everything! |

Pups eyes and ears are open. They are walking around and playing and one of them keeps pointing a rubber ducky! 
We got a new rescue dog in on Sunday. His name is Barron. Seems to be a nice dog. His foster family is helping him adjust.
Will be getting in two boys from a local group that helped rescue and now they need more permanent foster homes. They should be coming in end of this week or next. Nice looking dogs and shouldn't take long to get them forever homes.
We put our application in with Petco and should be able to start doing events there as well!
Piper- The female pup has been adopted and we are just waiting til she is old enough to go to her new home. I am sure Scooby and Maverick will be soon to follow!

| Our new two are here. Magnum and Ruger. What great dogs. Have awesome house manners, been around kids, dogs and cats and do great. Never been hunted either. Their owner had passed of cancer a few months ago and the friend who took them in just could not keep them himself. What wonderful dogs. They should be fast dogs to get placed with such wonderful personalities! |

If the male is patched & ticked he cannot be the sire of this litter as the dam is ticked also. You need a solid liver parent to produce solid liver pups(the white on them doesn't count as patching/ticking, many solids have white chest/paws), just as you need a black parent to produce black. You can get patched & ticked/liver & white pups from 2 solid liver parents, and you can get liver patched & ticked, liver & white pups from 2 black parents, but you cannot get solid liver from 2 non-solid parents or black from 2 liver/liver & white parents. Sounds like something else may have caught this female also.
A female can produce pups to more than one male, papers would therefore not count on these pups......their male GSP cannot possibly be the sire of the 2 solid pups. |

Things are looking good on the rescue front! The three pups that were born to Duchess all have homes. They will all be at their new homes this weekend! Whoo Hooo! Finaly a break for foster mom and dad and real mom!
Magnum has found his forever home with a great family and so has Ruger.
Still looking for that great home for Barron and Logan though. I don't know why such little interest in those two but we are still trying.
Have a couple foster homes opening as well so will probably get a female and a male brought in.
We personaly are taking a break of having fosters at our house. For a couple reasons. One my son just got here from Guatemala, two we have a litter of 8 pups ourselves and three for some odd reason whenever we get a foster in it throws all of our dogs off with their bowl movements. They get really YUCKKY! So we will have to play it by ear.
Thank you to all my volunteers and those who have bought calendars. It really has given us a good jump start for 2008! |

What a great couple months as a new rescue.
Barron went to his new home today.
We got one boy in today from a high kill shelter. WHOO HOOO! Thank you Mikeyair for the fostering of him!
We probably will be getting in at least 2-3 more males and a female in the next week to two weeks.
It was nice being down to one dog in rescue for ohhhhh 12 hours.

We are back up to 6 dogs in rescue. It sounds like either Logan or Timber will be adopted in the next couple days. Just have to do a home visit with each of them to see who fits the bill better! I hope logan as he has been with us the longest and needs his forever home.
Had a foster family back out on me after I picked up a dog. So I have one I NEEEEEED to find a foster for as we are full at our house and he is out in the barn right now. Staying worm all veted and such but with the pups and our dogs we just have too much in the house for him to be there right now! We will see what happens though.
Had our first Petco day in conjunction with another rescue. Got some lookers but nothing really seriouse. I guess that is still a first step. Also was able to pick up food at a good price through another rescue. That helps a lot! |

| Rescue work is going good. We just got Timber in to his foster home. He is doing great and looks like a handsome young man. Oscar is still looking for a foster home that he is an only dog as he shows some dog agression to certian dogs and like to try and eat little animals. Rhett adores his foster family and is a great dog! Remington and Ruger are still going through the foster to adopt program and will hopefully be officialy adopted in the next month! |

| Rhett has found his forever home with a great family that adores him. Remington will be coming back to my home as the person who was fostering to adopt wanted a hunter and he is VERY gun shy. We will work on this when he is back. I have to admit I don't mind having him come back! We have had a few people interested in Timber so we will see there. Shouldn't take long to find him a new home. I think my foster families may need a bit of a break after these guys. I hate to say it but we may need to take a couple weeks off to recoup and start again. I would rather do that than burn out though. I also may be getting a job at our vets office so maybe that would mean even more of a discount. That never hurts! |

| Remington and Timber are still in search of their forever homes. It seems as though things have slowed down a bit here. I have a female that will be coming in soon but is HW positive. More money to raise! Her name is Rossie and was an owner turn in to the Ionia shelter. She should be coming in in the next week or two. |
