I have been notified that a male GSP was found 25 miles east of Cedar Rapids Iowa. No coller, liver ticked male . I am asuming he has been lost for a week since season opened. He has traveled seven miles from thur. morning tell Fri. morning on his own . He is currently in an fence yard. He traveled as I say seven miles in a south east manner. Let me know if anyone is missing a dog signs have been posted at local coop .

I am afraid with bird numbers being very low in this area people will start dumping  hunting dogs off at farms.  This male is kind of spooked right now. He now has shelter and food but would like to get owner found !!!!

No one ever claimed found male. However a guy that was fostering the dog has decided to keep him and will give him a proper forever home. I would still like to know whom the jerk was that dumped this dog and put him on a LIST !!!!

Anyone caught dumping a dog should be banned from ever owning another one. Happy to hear that he found a good home.

Yeah, unfortunately it's a waste of time to bother thinking IF the dog was dumped, or if it was stray, or who would not have looked for such a nice dog, all you can do is make sure it does not happen again, by placing it in a good home for his future! NICE JOB!

Yes, you just have to look to the future now. When we adopted Ranger from the animal shelter we came back a couple months later to visit them. I mentioned to the director, "I can't believe no one came looking for this dog". (He came in as a stray).

Her response: "Someone did come looking. It was you."

So glad to hear there was a happy ending and maybe a better home for the dog after all.
