I found out about a GSP in Iowa (near Minnesota border) that needs a home. His owner doesn't want him anymore because he is gun shy and has no interest in hunting. Is there a rescue contact in Iowa that I can pass along to this jerk so this poor pooch can get some help? Thanks!

Who's gun shy and doesn't want to hunt the owner or the dog? Did owner get ahold of the breeder whom sold him this dog yet? I am unaware of rescue in Iowa however our bird numbers are so low this could be a problem upcoming!!!

There is no GSP rescue in IA.  About the closest you will get is Homeless Hunters.  We generally grab GSPs in IA shelters when space, because I know there is no coverage.  Owner surrenders are at the very bottom of my list right now. Purebred GSPs in shelters come first, always.  I always wonder what creates a gun shy dog, and then of course, the source, generally offloads the dog never bothering to think it's their problem, or something.  URGH.
