We got notice that there was a last minute opening for the NAVHDA NA test this weekend. So we are IN!!!!! Oh my... only 2 days to fine tune a few things and off we go Saturday! Wish us luck!

Make sure your dog has the scent of the feather pile to start the track before you release the collor , the start of the track is so important! We just had a NA test weekend and the tracking was a problem for alot of the dogs. Besides that have a good time. You have to remember this is a small window that these judges see your dog to make a judgement. Don't get caught up in the prize .

We had a blast. It was a very long but very fun day. And once again what a great group of people. The people associated with hunt trials thus far have been some of the nicest people we have been around and it really continues to build our love for hutning andt he GSP. Though I have to say I fell in love with a few of the wirehaired dogs! :0) Drake did great. He had only been in the field twice ever before the test. He pointed his first two birds really nice and then realized no one was correcting him for chasing so decided the last 3 birds he found he wasn't going to point but just jump right in there and kick them up. Silly boy. I couldn't see the track as it was too far out and my husband was handling him. But I guess it wasn't pretty! LOL. And he did great with water and swimming. We came home with a Prize III. Not too bad for pup we have only had a couple times who had just been intro'd to tracking 2 days before the test and only had been the field twice before. I have decided we will not try for a higher prize nor will be going for a JH as I do not want to allow him to chase birds and it be ok for him to do in trials. So we will just focus on going toward the UT and SH/MH levels and test more when he is older. But we had a blast. And now of course saying my husband has taken over Drake I need my own pup to train! LOL.

Bruce I don’t have his pedigree right here at work with me so can’t give you full registered name of his sire as I can’t remember it! Bad memory I guess.
