Meet WildRose Hemlock Heidi.  She is owned by John Sullivan of Oregon.

WildRose Hemlock Heidi

Heidi is quite a dog.  About two years ago John, who had been retired from the FT game for about ten years as a very tough competitior and highly respected judge Nationally called me wanting a pup to make him a great chukar hunting dog.  We'd been corresponding and talking for several years off and on and so I had a pretty good feeling about what would suit him and fit his needs.

I had kept two females out of a litter between Duchess and Bullett as future prospects for myself and so I sent him the one I thought would be best for him.

A few months later he's in love with his pup and she proves to be a great prospect for a hunting dog.

Then one day he gets a call from an old friend wanting him to judge a field trial close to home because they REALLY needed one more good judge.

John who's been out of the game for a long time says, Well if you can find me a horse or two and I can run my puppy I'll do what ever you need.

Well he calls me after the trial and says not only is Heidi going to make a great hunting dog but he thinks she's the best FT prospect he'd seen todate.  Now that's saying a lot for a guy who had judged at the GSPCA nationals as well as placed dogs there in the past.

It turned out she'd won one of the stakes and placed in another that weekend in spite of never being run off of a horse before so he was just flat thrilled.  Next thing you know John buys back his old trialing horse, a year's worth of hay, got his old trailer back and cleaned it up as well.

Heidi finished her puppy and derby points out both open and Am very quickly and so John tells me his goal is to get her one "adult placement" before she's two.  I tell him if she's anything like her sister that would be a big chore, but wished him all the luck in the world.

John finished up this spring Season with Heidi not just earning one broke dog placement but seven of them before she turned 19mo's old including one five point major win in I believe a 29 dog stake!

Congratulations to John, all I can say is that no pup ever had a better owner, handler, or trainer if he could accomplish all of that with is nice little foot hunting pup!

The attached picture is of Heidi with JUST the placements she earned this spring running as an Adult.

All the best John and Hedi! CR

There's a reason I like dogs better'n people... .
