To coveyrise on his new VC! I only got to see the blind portion of his test, which was textbook perfect, but I did talk to the field judges and they said Freckles was great there also.
Also to Brian and Cooper for thier pass on Saturday. I did get to see his field, and Cooper did not take a wrong step (despite handler, LOL). I was glad to see at the end of the day the rest was just as good. I guess he does take after his father after all!
I did not fair so well, we were clean until the last test, the blind. He swam straight across and searched like crazy, coming very close to the duck many timesI have no idea why he didn't find it (well, the field we ran in was full of pollen (the dog and my pants and boots were yellow, and I had to stop a few times in the field to wash off his head and wash his eyes. I feld it effected his nose in the last part of his field search). I am going to haul him to SD with me this weekend to try to requalifiy him, which I said I wouldn't do, but he was very close all his other work was good, and he is a fun dog to work with (even though he isn't a gs!). I am already running other dogs, so what the heck, may as well give it a try!
It was a great weekend, had a lot of fun, saw some folks I hadn't seen in a while, and met a lot of new ones. Got to see a lot of great dog work, and some heartbreakers (and had my own!) |
