I've decided to cancel my trip to Crafty's Quail Farm in favor of starting Rowdy on wild dove and subsequently integrating him to ruffed/blue grouse up here and then duck/pheasant/chukar/quail the 8th of October at the end of deer season.  He is currently CHARGING after bumpers or bumpers with phez. wings attached of distances up to 40 yards in my yard.  I think giving him a week break from retrieving back when he was having issues really paid dividends.  In any case, this dog has really matured vastly over the past month or so.  Literally cannot get enough of the quail that reside in our neighborhood, which I obviously love as well.
