Went out yesterday for an afternoon hunt with some friends.  Birds were mostly in their roosting cover in the trees.  We had a lot of fun putting up birds out of the woods.  They were running, and flushing ahead of us, but when they would hold, it was loads of fun!!!

It is watching the dogs work that I thoroughly enjoy, and love. I could get by with just watching them work - if it weren't for all the training, and the joy they exhibit when they pick-up, and deilver to hand a bird that they pointed, and you shot. - Todd

Nicely done! Looks like Sadie did pretty well for you guys. I feel like I'm already counting down the days until bird season again.

The worst day of hunting is better than the best day at work.

This is what happens  Eventually none of the other seasons matter & it all becomes about & for our pup's ! Once again good job Sadie !

Too funny...  102 (and a half) days until birds are available for training, and 212 (and a half) days until Sadie Season 3! (LOL!)

Thanks guys!  It was really muddy - I am still cleaning the caked mud off of her (and my boots)!  Now, though, my buddy (the one on the left) wants a dog.  He wants a Brittany, though...  Well, not bad, but not a GSP.  I told him to train it himself (again, LOL!)!

I like brittany's also. The person who got me into bird dogs had E/P 's though others that were instrumental in helping me with my first shorthair had E/S's & brittany's. My friend who got me started reccoemnded GSP & set me up with my breeder. Since then I am hooked on shorthairs ! ............. their just it

Brittany's are great UPLAND dogs. I briefly considered adding one to the pack, but I need a versatile dog that will hunt upland AND waterfowl.
