I recently joined the Germand Shorthaired Pointer Club of Oregon and we had our annual club hunt today. Rowdy did great for his first time on preserve birds, despite running head-first into a barbed wire fence and slicing himself open. Vet said stitches not critical, but gave anti-biotics. These German dogs are tough. After he sliced his head/face open he pointed and retrieved 3 pheasant (2 roosters and a hen. More battle scars. Tried to get more dog-working-birds pictures and less dead birds on a tailgate photos. Ended up with 2 roosters and 2 hens out of 5 birds. 4 points and 3 retrieves.

Yeah, I am very grateful he didn't lose an eye. That would have been horrible.
