I'll second that. And when they grow up you finally get your daughter (in-law) and another batch of little ones.

Cut back on the Jaydon's day time nap time. Or let him stay up 2 hours latter before he goes to bed. Very easy for babies to get nights and days mixrd up.. If he is up all day with little nap sleep time and still waking up at night, Jaydon might have an ear infection or cutting teeth problem that wakes babies up at nght. There is over the counter medication that you can rub on babies gums. Parents on this board may have some other good ideas for you.... Tucker what a handsome Son you have. He was an adorable baby in hs formal baby suite!!!

With my 17 month old grandson they put a lullaby CD on in his room, I think it sooths him & blocks other household noises. Does he drink a bottle? Try warm milk at night , always seemed to relax mine a little.

Yes, it has been a real joy raising our son Jake. I had 3 sons & couldn't have any more so we adopted. Was supposed to be my girl tehe, but when they said it was a boy I said "oh well, you don't get to choose when you give birth to them. He has been such a good child to raise, a little unusual, he likes antiques, plays accordion, polkas & waltz his favorite, lives to go to Steam Thresher shows will only wear cowboy boots , will go to nursing homes & play music for them etc etc, We always joke that if we believed in reincarnation that he was a farmer from the 1800"s

Jayden will HARDLY take any naps during the day. I was thinking about putting the teathing stuff on his gums tonight before bed. The past few days he wants hardly anything to do with his bottle either. Today was a much better day overall. He actualy did nap for a bit. He has been going to be at about 10pm and getting up about 4 am and staying awake for 2 hours before we can get him back to sleep. Bottle doesn't work nor does music at this point. He screems if I have him and try to make him happy but will be quiet for my hubby. Oh well I guess that means I get to sleep at night ;-) Keep the advice coming! I appreciate it!

FWIW they grow up fast enough, and this too will pass before you know it... it will take all of you a while to get your groove on and about the time you figure it out it will change anyway, lol. I'm slowly learning that the perfect age/stage is THIS.MOMENT.RIGHT.NOW, even with lack of sleep and food everywhere and crud ground into the hair and sticky kisses and snotty noses and wailing meltdowns... there's always something in there that can be appreciated, even if it's just sheer twisted irony. :)

Speaking of kids Megan I wanted to ask you something. When you had your daughter when did you find the time to work the dogs in the snow? I am thinking about getting a head lamp so I can take my boy out at night when my hubby gets home to do the skijoring thing. Just wanted your opinion. My boy is too big for the back pack thing so I can't really haul him along at this point. I want to get out on the SNOW!

Maybe all the excitement and newness of everything is catching up with Jayden. The holidays can also be a little unsettling. I think sleep deprivation is just something mothers learn to deal with. You get a break with the early teen years when they sleep away half the morning and then they start dating and driving and you miss a few more years of sleep. Just enjoy every stage---they grow up faster than you think.

When did I find time? Sheesh, your guess is as good as mine... I sneak out on the weekends and at night when husband is home basically. Last night I got an 8 mile run in and after coming home, feeding, etc. landed in bed just after midnight. Yeah, you'll want a head lamp. :)

By the way, if you're looking for the ultimate bang-for-buck light wise, I would HIGHLY recommend mounting this LED flashlight on a bike helmet:

https://www.fenix-store.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_65&products_id=362

This is the cutting edge of LED light technology and this flashlight is one of the first items manufactured with this particular bulb. The high beam is as good or better than my 10w halogen bike light, and it runs on cheap AA batteries. If you want to use rechargables the light will be a little dimmer/shorter lived, but considering the beam it throws I don't think it's a problem. Plus you can always keep a couple spare AAs in your pocket.

This $65 beauty has put $200+ bike light systems to shame. Much to love here for the price!
