I am a Nikon girl too. I have the D70 (got it before the D90 was available) and have been looking at the 300. I have been using Nikons since my first one, the 35mm Nikon FG which I still have and it still works.

@Texasbelle...I actually got my 90 just as the 7000 came about. I regret not upgrading sometimes, but have been really happy with my 90. I prefer it to the 300, but mostly just because I am more comfortable and familiar with it. I shoot with 300's for doing school photography and will use it occasionally when something on the road is worth pulling over for a shot and I don't have my 90 with me. It's really all about what you're comfortable using. The better you know your camera, the better the shot. I tell people all the time not to rely on the camera to do the work for you. I would love to find a Nikon film camera for a reasonable price. I almost crossed enemy lines with a Canon one I came across :)
