Chelsea is 12 and has never been a hard chewer--nowadays pigs' ears are about as "tough" as she'll go.  Humphrey is 7, bigger, and a power chewer, so I bought him an antler.  He loves it.  Twice this week I have heard "chomp, chomp" and walking through the living room there is CHELSEA gleefully gnawing away while Humphrey lies there looking sad.  She will dance around the room waving it in his face and daring him to grab it; if he tries she snarls ferociously and makes him back off.

If he leaves the room she drops the antler and goes outside to chase birds.

Just like kids. My three drive me nuts when I get on the phone. They instantly start a wrestling match right in the middle of the room I'm in. My human boys used it as an excuse to get in trouble in other parts of the house. :-)

I can't at all imagine how you intended to finish out that topic sentence ;)

B is also a power chewer. She has chewed off most of the points on her antlers so they are no horns, and I realized quick I can't go with Elk antlers because they are too soft and just leaves all these annoying bits all over the house.

Points are the first thing to go on our antlers - within a day. Now they walk around w/ just the horns - Windsor does mostly and it looks like he's smoking a stogey! He also loves to chew his tennis ball and she'll whip right by and steal it right out of his mouth. But they do it to one another - they like to play that way, sometimes they end up in a fight though.

Nothing more fun than playing a game of I steal from you, you steal from me. My love that game. Dingo will even star it by going to the toy box and digging in it until he finds just the perfect toy to bait the others with. I laugh so hard watching them play that game. All of mine are power chewers which is why I buy the extra large antlers. They still chew them down, but it takes a little more time. They also chew the tips off first. Still the best option for chewing.
