I am running an AKC Hunt Test this fall, and it's common practice around here to offer the judges a gift as thanks for their commitment to the club and sport. I'm looking for creative ideas for around $50. There are 3 men and 1 woman as a judge. All are very involved in campaigning dogs in hunt tests and field trials, so they likely already have every gadget and gismo related to dogs.

He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion. -Unknown

How about some GSPCA Orange T-shirts with a pointing dog on the back? I'm merchandise chair for the club and would love to offer your club, and any club, wishing to use these T-shirts as judge gifts, trophies, etc. a good deal. They normally retail for $22 each, but we could do a group discount. The shirts can be seen at the GSPCA store at www.gspca.org and also come in royal blue, navy, dark green and gunmetal, in addition to orange. Sizes are S-2X. We often give a bird bag with a brass name tag on it to the judges.

I was given an entry in a Hunt Test by the club. One club even gave two. It applied to either the weekend I judged or the next time the club held a Hunt Test. Since I was putting titles on a few dogs it was well appriciated.

Thanks for the ideas. I like all 3 of them. I think all my judges are running dogs, so I may try to offer them a free entry. But I also want to have something to GIVE them...

I got gift certificates from gundogsupply for a silent auction, and we had some leftover, so we gave those. We also do gift baskets with local cool stuff too.
