Does their butt touch the ground?
I posted this question elsewhere because Bugsy's does not and was told some breeds cannot.
Here's his sit:

| Shorthairs butts do not hit the ground in a sit. I get comments about it all the time. Greyhounds are the same way as well as other breeds. |

awesome info Bev - I heard about greyhounds In watching him over the years, it doesn't look to be possible unless he does a sloppy sit |

Mine like to use their stubbies as tripods, especially when it's wet or cold |

| Ringo gets his butt closer to the ground, but he spreads his legs out a bit and kind of sits between his legs, but even then his butt does not hit the ground it just barely touches. And yes they can do a sloppy puppy sit and their butt will hit the ground, but I don't allow that with mine because I compete in obedience and it is too easy for them to go into a down from a sloppy puppy sit. |

Yup. The stubby also works as a spring when they are released from the "sit" |

You can see Bugsy's tail doing the tripod thing in the first pic! So can anyone from here have a GSP that does sit with their butt touching and NOT a sloppy sit? |

I'm going to have to pay attention and look more closely but I think based on this picture their butts may actually touch the ground (especially Zoe).

| Bella's touches if she cocks one of her feet out to the side (perfect example in my avatar), otherwise it's more like she is sitting on her heels. A guy at Petco while we were in Georgia commented after I had Bella sit at the cash register "oh, you got a "half sitter" huh? You'll have to work on that". And it took me a bit to figure out what the heck he was talking about because she had sat perfectly. Lol |

Oh me, you can't see it in the avatar pic, I cut it out. Here's a few of her sits.
There's the foot push I used to worry her joints were weird or something, but realized she just couldn't get that bum to the ground without it.

Another little foot push

Sitting on her tail and heels

So. . .all these times I've been yelling "I want that butt on the ground!" I was asking too much? |

| Lol Bella scratches to try and cover a wrong command or to try and get out of training. She has ever since she was a pup. I was on to her! |

| I think they touch the ground. Windsor can actually sit and look like a human sometimes the way he does it and we crack up! The only time I've seen Windsor's butt not touch the ground was when he ate very long grass and went to go do business and it got stuck half way out and he wouldn't sit all the way and I had to pull it out yuck! |

| HAHA. We use the tripod reference as well. Havocs butt does not touch the ground unless he does a lazy sit like in my avatar. |
