Dax just figured out today that theres 3 groundhogs under the shed. He now seems determined to erradicate the things, including spending all day staring out the window "scouting"

Later today I let him out to pee and of course all 3 groundhogs were out. The one made it under the shed just barely in time and the other two climbed a mulberry tree to escape. He has since starred out the window and whine the rest of the day. I might have to get the bow out and try to pick some off as well. We'll both be entertained for a little while it seems

Sounds just like mine with the chipmunks and voles! so obsessed!!! constant scouting whether inside or outside!

BB guns work well - I use one daily and find it quite entertaining. It doesn't kill them but keeps them away for a while, and then the next morning with my coffee before work I go out and shoot the critters that drive the dogs nuts and then I do the same when I get home from work. We are thinking of using paintballs on the deer - that would be fun - and I would know who is who after I color them nicely.
