Just noticed that her gums are darker than normal. Breath also stinks which is not that abnormal.   She sometimes digs at her mouth with her paws.  She is still playful and healthy. Good appetite and drinks plenty.Should I be concerned?

Could be gingivitis or need a cleaning. I would definitely get it checked out sooner rather than later as she is clearly uncomfortable (pawing at her mouth)

How old is your dog? If her gums are dark, I would suspect some type of dental issue, but I would take her to the vet to have it checked. Lots of illnesses show symptoms by changing the gum color.
