Webster was on medicine after his knee surgery which caused runny stools  and he still has it  even though he finished the medicine a couple of weeks ago. He doesn't necessarily have diarrhea, just loose stools.

I read pumpkin might help firm him up, can anyone tell me about how much to give him?

I give our guys a couple tablespoons to a half cup when they have bad tummies. Hope he's feeling better soon!

You also might try Acidophilus (probiotic). It helps to support the digestive, intestinal
and immune systems. I give it to my dogs daily. Just a thought.

Yes adding pumpkin will add fiber but he probably needs the good quality probiotics to get his gut healthy again. Anti-biotics kill the good bacteria in the digestive tract which is why probiotics help

Thanks for the suggestions. I was giving Webster yogurt but I worried it might contribute to the runny stools. Is there another way to give him the probiotic?

I will try the pumpkin if that fails I'll do the ole fast him for a day then rice and burger. I feel so bad when I fast him for the day

I was told to buy good quality human probiotics when I had a similar problem with Bugsy. It worked but not instantly, it just takes a bit of time for the intestinal flora to return.
I hope the knee is doing well

Purina makes a product called FortiFlora that I get from my vet (but I think you can buy it online also).  It's a probiotic and the box comes with 30 sachets in it and you just sprinkle it on their food. I always keep it on hand in case of tummy upsets (it works pretty quickly).
