Glad Lily is doing so much better. Nice to see the pictures too.

Best Carbs are from rice a roni and what other sources. I trying not to give her "heavy foods" for next couple day and let her stomach and digestive system catch up.
So with that in mind I'll be appreciative of any dietary recommendations. Please keep in mind that she was severely under weight/malnourished before she stopped eating.

Boiled chicken and rice is easy on the stomach. You could start her on that and then start gradually adding in her regular food and maybe soak it in chicken broth to soften it at first. You might also want to do several small meals a day for a few days too. I would try to get her on her regular food though as it has all the minerals, etc that she needs and provides the balance in her diet.

Wow this is great I've been following this thread. what progress with Lilly! Now just gotta put the weight on and get that stubby tail in the air, i'm sure it will come soon! plain cooked chicken and rice or plain cooked boiled and drained hamburger with plain rice would be what i would do. rice r roni is full of sodium i wouldn't feed too much of that.

So I boiled some chicken as Lilly ate nothing yesterday. Tried to give to her some and no interest at all. This am i gave her a syringe of beef broth and she took that although it wasnt willingly. While at Cabelas yesterday I bought some Bison sandwiches and had left overs. OMG, that dog went nuts over that! She ate all I had and then some leftover steak. So all in all she a good bit of food, willingly. However not sure I can afford steak and bison everyday lol.

Been following your post - I am so glad Lily is doing better! I know sometimes when I give the dogs something real good to eat they seem to expect it at their next meal. Or if we feed them some of our dinner they won't leave us alone :)

I've been adding a little bit of canned food to my dogs kibble to try and give them a variety.  Nature's Variety Prairie makes a Homestyle stew that you may want to try - they have a variety of flavors and one of them is Beef & Bison Stew, they cost around $2.00 a can.

I saw that (Beef & Bison Stew) at Petsmart today. I try not to do table scraps, espisally right now, would be too hard on stomach. The meat she got was 'dry" as my wife ruins steak, no flavor add steak sauce.

Anyway she is much stronger, eager to go for walks and doing very well over all. She is really starting to notice and pay attention to birds, rabbits and otters so thats good.

I wish I could give you a big hug and pat in the back for doing such a tremendous job and sticking with what so many others would have given up on. She looks phenomenal. What a beauty! I hope it is all downhill from here for you guys.

(ps - don't be too hard on wives ruining steaks... I can't master the grill to save my life, but my burgers make up for
It!) ;)

She just ruins it with steak sauce, I like mine without (if cook properly)

No way was I going to give up on this dog! And today discovered she will fetch/retrieve a ball and release on command (give). She also worked the yard like a pro looking like she knew what she was doing. The better she feels/gets the more stuff she needs to know. Still rough around the edges with the "come" command but hey thats easy enough. I've started walking in wooded area/fields/undeveloped areas and she gets real excited, I'm using a 30' lead right now and just getting a feel for what she does out there.

Again, thank you to all of you that commented and/or made recommendations to the care of Lilly, I have to share the credit with guys. Thank you!
