Keely's single barks sound completely normal, but when she's on a roll she takes a darth vader-like breath in between  I've been trying to capture the noise on my video camera but it doesnt pick it up.  I normally find it amusing but should i be worried? Does anyone else's dog do this? I just worry in case she has a prob with her trachea or something like that.  Aside from the barking she breathes completely normally.

When Bo gets on a roll he sometimes gets a wheezy sound in his bark. Get it checked out if you're worried (look who I am talking to ;)) but it's probably nothing.

Hey nothing wrong with being concerned, they are our babies after all.

I'm not sure if they vaccinate against kennel cough in the UK, but that could be a concern if she's been around a lot of other dogs. But I think that would be apparent when she's running around too, not just barking.

As i said in a past parnoid post  she does pant a lot, but i think i'm just not used to that after Kintra - she never panted, poss something to do with her lungs in hindsight, not sure.

Yeah, the kennel cough think entered my mind but she's sounded like this since she first barked a couple of months ago.  Over here the kennel cough vaccine isnt really encouraged much by vets (any i've met) because there are so many strains and the vaccine is pretty specific.  It's only asked for when booking a dog into boarding kennels.  Aside from the bark she's normal. Yep, just being paranoid again methinks Thanks for the reply, it always helps to hear what someone else thinks x

Oh the different sounds they can make . . . my Java has more sounds coming out of her mouth than any dog I have ever known.  It depends on what is going on on what sounds she makes.  Can be a high pitched bark, the ever non-forgetable whines that she has, and of course the deep bark for possible intruder alert, and the howl she can make when she is crated and I am training our other GSP Maple.  No doubt she keeps me entertained.
