Thanks everyone. Abe is such a sweet boy and I know that once he is fully recovered and we have worked through his separation anxiety, he will make some family very happy. 

My vet called this morning to tell me that one of the surgeons decided to donate her time for Abe's surgery!! This is amazing news and will save us a lot of money. We are now looking at around $1000 for the surgery. I don't know if it is ok to post this here, but we have started a chip in for Abe. If it is not ok, please let me know and I will remove it. Abe's surgery has been rescheduled for 2/6/12, due to the change in surgeons.

On a side note, we left Abe at home today for the first time since we picked him up and he did really good. He was in a bedroom with our two dogs for one hour. We could not find any damage and we didnt hear any barking or whinning! He was shaking when I went to let him out, but I was really impressed over all. He is such a good boy and I could not be happier that we were able to save him.
