Here is a picture of my Blaze doing her 1st snow pull. She is the 1st GSP to cmpete in & gain points in a snow pull. This was just this past weekend on 02/09/08. She pulled 350 pounds in horriblely cold tempetures of 2 degrees with a wind chill factor of 20 below zero. I had to hold her up off the ground, snuggled in my coat untill just before her pull so her little feet wouldn't get too cold. I kept my van running the entire time with the heat on to keep her toasty warm between turns. I think she was just as glad as I was that she only had to be outside for about 3 minutes total. too bad I had to be out there longer.

Spot would like that.  GSP's are very strong.  Great picture!

How did you train for this?

Way to go Blaze! We did a quick skijor run yesterday and due to melt/freeze conditions were flying along at a breathtaking clip. Nothing like a GSP trying to wiggle themselves into a harness.
