Rocky is definitely king of the big hill. You have a bunch of snow. Most of ours is gone----74 degrees her today but 35 and snow tomorrow.

And then my husband was looking at the long range forecast for the next week ... 2 more days where up to 6 inches is predicted ... maybe I'll take Bo out front and take some pix this aft. Oh, and did I mention this freezing rain warning tonight? Sigh!

Joce,

We're taking snow pics today too. The dogs can almost step over my fence!

We're a little concerned as well because our neighbours behind us have a dog ... we're just waiting for one of them to go over the fence to say hi!

It's a good thing my dogs don't leave the yard even when the gate is left open by mistake.....

The top of the wrought iron fence is almost 6 feet!

Great pics! Nice house too. Your gsp look like they are prison inmates saying hey let us out we're innocent. Just kidding! The snow in our yard is almost thigh high now. We got about 6 inches here yesterday. Now it's supposed to freezing rain tonight. Yipee!

I didn't realize that the crust on the snow here was so abbrasive. Poor Doddi came in from playing and her rear legs were all scratched up and bleeding. I am such a bad daddy. None of the others were like that though. Wierd I guess.
I hope they are wrong about the rain. Last time it was treacherous!

He is gorgeous!  Just curious, how much does he weigh and how old is he???  Just trying to get an idea since he seems so much bigger then my 50 lb 2 year old male.  It is kinda hard to tell from a pic, though.  Do I just have a small dog?

We lived in East Grand Forks in 1997 when we had over 100 inches of snow. The horses walked over the snow drift, over the fence. Then they just stood there  like " now what do we do"??? That was the year the Red River flooded. I hope you guys aren't going to run into any flooding problem are you??

We were in Winnipeg for the flood in the late 70s (1979?) I remember that Sturgeon creek WAY over-flooded its banks and closed Portage Avenue for months. (I was just a kid, but it left quite an impression.) Knock on wood this spring isn't like that!

Here are some photos of Bo playing in the snow today (was sick and the batteries died in the middle of taking pix! or I would have taken more/better pix.)

Oh, for the love of God! Here's the weather alert for Ontario over the next couple days (BTW -- the all caps are not mine, but I sure feel them).

******************

A WINTER STORM IS CURRENTLY BREWING OVER TEXAS WITH THE POTENTIAL TO BRING SIGNIFICANT SNOW TO MOST OF SOUTHERN ONTARIO. IT APPEARS THAT THE SNOW WILL COME IN TWO DOSES. THE FIRST SHOT WILL BEGIN AS EARLY AS FRIDAY AFTERNOON FOR SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO AND FRIDAY EVENING IN EASTERN ONTARIO. WE MAY HAVE A BRIEF REPRIEVE OVERNIGHT INTO SATURDAY MORNING WHERE SNOW MAY BECOME LIGHT AND MORE INTERMITTENT. THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL IS THEN EXPECTED IN THE SECOND SHOT BEGINNING LATER SATURDAY. KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS STORM IS EXPECTED TO LAST FOR 36 TO 48 HOURS. STORM TOTALS MAY BE NEAR 30 CENTIMETRES ALONG AND EAST OF A LINE FROM LONG POINT TO THE GOLDEN HORSESHOE THEN TO PETAWAWA. THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR 30 TO 50 CENTIMETRES OF SNOW OVER THE NIAGARA PENINSULA AND PARTS OF EASTERN ONTARIO. AREAS WEST OF THE LONG POINT TO PETAWAWA LINE SHOULD SEE BETWEEN 10 TO 20 CENTIMETRES WITH LESSER AMOUNTS NEAR LAKE HURON AND GEORGIAN BAY. BEHIND THIS SYSTEM WE COULD SEE STRONG NORTHERLY WINDS TO 60 KM/H. ON SATURDAY STRONG WINDS COMBINED WITH FRESH SNOW WILL CAUSE BLOWING SNOW TO LOWER VISIBILITIES AND CREATE DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS. WHITEOUT CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE SO TRAVELLERS SHOULD BE PREPARED TO ALTER THEIR PLANS ACCORDINGLY. TOTAL SNOWFALL AMOUNTS WILL DEPEND ON THE TRACK OF THIS SYSTEM. THERE IS STILL SOME UNCERTAINTY AS TO THE EXACT TRACK OF THIS STORM. ENVIRONMENT CANADA WILL CLOSELY MONITOR THIS SITUATION AND ISSUE WARNINGS AS REQUIRED WITHIN THE NEXT 24 HOURS.

PLEASE REFER TO THE LATEST PUBLIC FORECASTS FOR FURTHER DETAILS.

Joce,

Thanks for making my day!! I'm getting pretty sick of snow, cold, shovelling, ice, and winter in general. We're supposed to run in an agility trial in Montreal Saturday so I hope the blizzard takes a break....

We'll have to get more pics after the next blast.

No kidding! I was going to take pictures yesterday, but Rich told me to wait until Saturday to get the full impact. I'm just incredulous right now ...
