We got hit again yesterday. 15 below with 50 mph winds, and snow on top of it.

There is no place to put the stuff any more.

Right there with you ... if we hadn't had a thaw early January, I don't know where we would be putting all the snow right now (well, where hubby would be putting it :)). The snow banks beside our driveway are over 7 feet tall!

That looks pretty bad. It was a short term thing around here, but yesterday with the winds gusting up to 40mph in NC we had our hands full. Mostly trees landing on power lines then sparking fires, between the year long drought and the winds the fires burned easily. We put them out in the city but rural areas are still dealing with it. Bet that would melt your snow for you!

I know how you feel! We are sitting at -4F today and more snow for tonight. WE got wonderful lake effect yesterday and the day before and the day befor that. We had to use the snow blower to start spreading the snow around the yard b/c the 4 wheeler had no to go and push the stuff anymore. Oh man how I wish Friday would hurry up and come. Friday we are leaving for FL for good and moving back home to the sunny weather where my girls have been telling me mommy we went to the beach today. My mom said it is 65-70F there this week. How nice. I would settle for 20F right now without the wind.

You know the movie The Shining ???   If my husband had to endure as much snow as you guys...he'd be just like  Jack Nicholson................

Today I walked in a regular ball cap...not my Cabela's that has the knitted face & neck cover attatched.....I was in seventh heaven, it was 45 degrees, no rain, no wind.................Just Deer Cayotes, and bunnies.....

We have had storms 7 out of the last 10 days & are getting another one tomorrow into Wednesday. If we hadn't had that unnatural thaw in January (and all the dang rain) I'd lose the dogs in the snow drifts!

I don't know how you guys deal with all that snow. I wish we had a little here in GA but I don't think I would last long with 7 ft snow banks. Good luck with that! :)

I hate it when the snowbanks are so high the snowblower doesn't work anymore.

We keep our mailboxes shoveled out and there was a huge pile of snow probably 6 ft high.  We were out shoveling and let Spot out to play for a while.  He fell in the snow bank and disappeared completely.  I ran over to help him and all you could see was a cloud of snow.  Spot flew out of the middle with a shocked look on his face!

We're having a pretty snowy winter here in the Chicago area, too, although not 7 feet on the ground like you folks up north. There's probably 8 inches or so on the ground in my backyard, with a bit of a crunchy layer on top. Hans loves to eat or chew snow, depending upon how frozen it is - so much so that he forgets to do his business. He's hilarious to watch when I throw snowballs up in the air for him to catch! They either break up if he's lucky enough to hit one with his mouth, or they sink into the snow and he looks around trying to figure out where it went.

Here in central WA we've finally caught a break, but those snowbanks look familiar with what I'm seeing in the higher elevation portions of the county.

Best quote of the winter so far came from the coffee shack gal a few weeks ago re her brother... he was helping shovel a friend's car out in a little mountain town just up the road from my work when he suddenly realized something wasn't right.

Brother: "Wait.... where's your fence?"
Friend: "Dude, you're standing on it!"

we are buried here now too. Over knee deep throughout the yard and OMG the drifts are taller than I am. Getting harder and harder to plow it away now. The shorthairs love it though!!!

Just hope that all of this doesn't add up to flooding downstream this spring. Up in the mountains here they are having major problems with all the snow.

Another 5 to 10 cm last night ... I know it doesn't sound like much, but WHERE do we put it??? On the news they keep reassuring us that it's not near as bad as the winter of 70-71 (coincidentally, the winter I was born:)) but that hardly makes this any better.

Growing up in Minnesota I can understand how you guys are sick of snow. I now live in PA & what we get here is sleet & freezing rain & hard brown ground. Yesterday we had both sleet & freezing rain. Last night driving home from work was like driving on a skating rink. The power went out in the middle of the night, luckily I put an alarm on my sump pump when the water rises above a certain level. I had to empty the sump pump with a bucket, haul it up the stairs to throw it out. Today it's pouring & now the streams & roads are flooding. YUCK!

Why don't you keep that nice snow over there in Wisconsin? Every time you get nailed with it we do here by the next day. This is crazy! Come on spring already eh?
