So sorry to read of the diagnosis.  Sounds like you have some fun days planned with Izzy . . . enjoy them and don't dwell too much on what the future holds.

I lost a dog to Lymphoma also.  The prednisone really helped for a while.  You will have some time to enjoy  and love your friend.

I am so sorry about Izzy. If I had a dog with cancer I would try a holistic remedy. There is a wonderful site on the internet which I would highly recommend. I don't think I can post it here, but please email me for the information, would love to help. Prayers are with you...

Sorry to hear the news. Enjoy Izzy while you can. I lost my (canine) best friend ever to lymphoma about 3 years ago. No dog before him or after will ever be the same. After diagnosis, we had about 5 months with Murray and during that time we had fun with him and threw the "rule book " out the window. In the end though, I'm proud to reflect, we made the right choice at the right time and let him leave this world with dignity. I wish you all the best.

This is tough. I feel for you. Prednisone is a cheap and effective drug and will help keep Izzy comfortable, and I hope you have some good months ahead. I would hate being in your shoes, knowing the time you have with Izzy is so limited - breaks my heart.

Then again, I once had a dog with an aggressive mast cell tumor (malignant) and her prognosis after surgery was 6 months at the most. She was 4 years old. She lived to be 14 and the cancer never did its thing, so even when it looks bleak there might be a little hope, although lymphoma is a tough one.

You may want to look into natural anti-cancer support (holistic vet) for your dog. A friend of mine has a Vizsla who lost his leg to bone cancer 5 years ago and with a multi-prong approach (amputation, chemo, and tons of holistic stuff) he is alive and well today. The prognosis for osteosarcome is poor usually (1 year). Not saying it will cure Izzy, but may improve quality of life or even prolong it.

Best wishes, and keep us posted!
