Here's what I would do.
1) I would bring all the dogs to pick up the puppy and have them meet at the breeders, ride all the way home and go for a walk with them all when you get home
2) leave the others at home, wait outside with the pup, go get the others and go for a long walk
It's my experience that all dogs really need is to be familiar with each other to disolve fears they may have

Texas Belle, I was thinking I may just have my husband do the intro. I would really like to be there, but I guess it all depends on how stressed I am feeling about it at that moment. I just don't want to cause extra problems and my husband is really good about staying calm, where as I am not when I see my Chi showing his teeth. He has NEVER bit another dog, he will just bark like crazy and snap to keep her back. So I guess I should relax and know he won't actually hurt her...but it's still frustrating to me. We will see, depends how I am feeling about it before the intro.
Pixie, that is a good suggestion as well and I have thought about maybe bringing the dogs along with us. I believe I may do that as well but crate them so that way they can all get each others scent but cannot get to each other in the vehicle.
Thank you both for the suggestions!

I would not assume he wouldn't bite the puppy, so be watchful. However, I have known many Chi's through the years and many I have know have been a lot of bluster. I always said it must be a Napoleon complex. ; ) Anyway, you might want to consider letting your husband handle the puppy and let your Chi out off leash and you just sit back and watch. Then your Chi has no reason to be jealous of you with the puppy. Let us know what happens and good luck.

I will be sure to let you know what happens and thanks for all the advice! We pick our puppy up on Saturday and I couldn't be more excited! We just got a phone call from our breeder today letting us know that first pick finally made a decision and she chose the "purple" pup, which was the other solid liver...so this means we got our first choice, or rather...the pup that chose us
! The "pink" pup is ours...she's a beautiful solid liver and I cannot wait to bring her home! I'll let you all know how it goes!
