Welcome to the forum.  The pup is beautiful.

I have one of the three girls that Texas Belle posted.  You cannot really go by the size they are in the litter when born.  My girl was not the smallest in the litter at birth, but I believe she is now the smallest at a year old.  She is still awesome and keeps up with the bigger dogs with no problem.  Actually she likes going underneath them, which my older GSP is not too fond of anymore!

Your pup does look as though it will be mostly white with some ticking.  As they said, look at the parents and that will give you a good idea how your pup will look as more of her ticking comes in.

Keep the photos coming!

I should add that my dogs parents were: mom solid liver and dad white ticked so the littler turned out some solid others white ticked...not sure if any of the whites had spots too but mine does not...

Hello! I am Mike's wife and the other half of the puppy purchase :) I want to thank you guys so much for answering our questions so quickly and so enthusiastically - you really put all my concerns to rest! It’s still not a done deal but it’s in the works and we should have her home with us in a few weeks :)

Everbell, we live in the west too, near the Greenbank exit so not too far away. Our breeder is only 5 minutes away and will be keeping at least one puppy so there will be a few GSPs around.

I noticed your reference to your cats. How are Bogart and Shiraz with them? We’re planning on getting a kitten as well and want to raise them together. The puppy thing has happened so fast I haven’t had a chance to research how to do this. Any advice on that would be great!

I think starting with a puppy and kitten will be the easiest as neither will be set in their ways yet and with still being young they will want to buddy up...

I have two cats and 4 shorthairs. My cats were adults when I got my first shorthair, but all of my puppies have come into the family as puppies and were raised with the cats. They all get along very well, but I did have remind my 3 YO male and my 1 YO female regularly when they were puppies to leave the kitties alone because they were part of the family. Shorthairs love the chase game and my two youngsters loved to try to get the cats to run so they could chase. Since my cats are now older when I got my male and young female they no longer are interested in playing the chase game. That said when i first got my oldest shorthair, my oldest kitty was still pretty young and they used to chase each other back and forth all the time and they still will sleep together. So, my dogs love their kitties, but strange cats are seen in a totally different light if they come in the backyard. You should be fine raising and kitten and a puppy together. If the puppy gets too rough with the kitten, just tell her easy and distract her to something else. I also have a place my cats can escape to to get away from the dogs if they need a break. I put a tall baby gate that has a small door on the spare bathroom and I leave the small cat size door open. The cats can go in, but not the dogs. That said when my youngest girl was a puppy she would follow the poor cats through the door. If was funny to watch her as she grew and finally got to big to go through the cat size door. She would lay with her head through the door crying wanting in with the cats. The cats would sit just out of her reach and look at her like she was crazy.

Christine ... It would be great to meet you and your pup. We aren't far at all :)

We recently rehomed our remaining cat. We would have loved to remain a dog and cat household, but we were worried about the dogs (or cat) hurting themselves on the stairs ... Our main floor is all ceramic. And the chases were scary! It worked well when we had the two cats, but when our older one died the younger was lonely and would tease the dogs.

That said, I would love to get another cat and I know that these guys would respect it as a member of the family. Getting a pup and a kitten at the same time would work well, I think.

One more thing....make sure the litter box is somewhere the dog can't get to otherwise the puppy will be sneaking gross treats out of it, lol!

Now that's a cute puppy!

Did you guys name her yet?

beautiful pup! we got a "runt" that also 'picked us'. were non-hunters, and she showed the least interest in running off into the woods when we were playing with all the pups (we had pick of the litter), so the breeder had her picked out for us as well so it worked great! Shes still very small at 2 yrs (<40lbs), but very portable which is a big plus for us! so small small pups end up average size, some don't
