Since I've been posting more and hanging around more I thought it appropriate to post a few photos of 'the beast'.

I took him swimming and he was very thankful

he was also thankful for the new bubbling water bowl - also known as a fountain

he enjoys 'zooming' for any reason or no reason

he can often be found just staring at something - a living something :)

we recently went to the beach and he met a new friend

Squirrels encourage him to climb trees

sometimes he is attentive

In March I took him for a training day and one of the quail was up a tree

Thanks for looking!

He is obviously a mix - we think GSP + dane?, some think Pointer X, or even weim X.

He's nearly 29" weighs 103-5lbs.  Bird obsessed, critter obsessed, fun obsessed, super active, has a single coat, his feet are similar to a GSP.

he's my boy and I love him :)

aw thanks everyone!
Everbell he is crazy agile, oye the things we've witnessed LOL He is truly like a giant GSP the guy I took him to train with was very skeptical but as soon as he met him and worked with him he was in agreement. This dog catches songbirds regularly (never harmed one) and also catches rabbits & squirrels so is very fast & quick.
Splat he is ridiculously muscled, I always laugh because he was neutered by the shelter at about 10wks old, clearly he suffers from the lack of testosterone :)

Bugsy looks like a really cool dog. He sure looks a lot like my dog Jenny. I think she is a Plott or Plott mix. Her chest blaze is smaller and she is smaller - about 65 lbs. The tail looks identical. I couldn't find any good photos of Jenny that show her whole body but here are some.

Above - with Bearoff at river.
Jenny is a maniac swimmer. Bearoff will only go in up to his chest or so.

In you photo with the aluminum boat in the background - that face looks so familiar.

He could certainly have plott in him, we are in NC which is the 'home' of Plotts and his coat is a very dark brindle, which is common to the breed. He is an extreme tracker, would work till he croaked, and is kind of a 'primitive' dog. He is more independent than dependent or biddable but learned quickly if the reward aligns with his desires lol
When I first heard of the DNA tests I was going to do it but then I started hearing all the crazy results, saved my money and will live with the mystery.
His personality is very gsp-like as is his energy and drive. The rest is a big ? to me. Many guess lab mix but I would bet all I had against that and I know labs well
Anyhow thank you all for looking and he is a very happy boy

I love the picture of him flying past the porch steps.
Nothing better then to watch then a GSP when they start to open up a little bit.( run & jump and stuff) I always feel that it looks like it must feel really good to them.

thank you again everyone!
Chris he runs like that at least once a day making his own obstacle course over shrubs around trees etc. A while back I was taking some web design classes and needed a practice site and thus dailyzoomie was born :)
I haven't done much with that site but I have kept his blog up. Still makes my LOL to see him at nearly 6, one knee repaired, the other might be torn and he still goes flat out nuts every day
