Let the puppy out for some loose quail.  She got more than she barganed for. 

This quail did it to one of the other puppies but I did not catch it with the camera.  It put some caution into some bold puppies.

And one reason I use quail is b/c they WON"T do this.

Oh my, poor pup. Bet he/she is thinking, "and I'm supposed to hunt these things." ;-) Was the quail guarding a nest or something? Rather unusual.

I never thought quail could be a problem.  Pen raised.  In my area they are not even laying eggs yet.  Go figure.  I think no damage was done because I called a few of the puppies over and we had a game of chase with me in the lead.  They finnaly got wound up enough that one of the puppies chased it hard enough to make it fly away.
