Plus, I totally COULD argue as I was a vegetarian for 5 years, then vegan for 4 after that about the stuff that goes into that chicken and beef product he buys at Walmart. Not worth my time, IMO.

i would like to add that our dogs get meat usually every second day along with what i consider to be a very high quality kibble. Honestly if we do any better than that our dogs would be eating better than us...after all we are having a taco/kraft dinner caserol tonight for Dinner...hahaha.

BlackBook,
So you are saying my dog is NOT healthy, right? While she is on HALF raw, she is also on HALF *gasp* KIBBLE. If this ain't a healthy dog with good muscle tone, then I really don't know what is? LOL
Not a healthy and thriving dog, huh? I beg to differ!
Anyways - people should feed what works for THEIR dog. If it works... why try to "fix" it?

dieterthegsp,
I decided to give the PC Nutrition first food a try when you posted this thread. Initially, I had my older dogs on the large breed and Rayne (almost 3 years) on the Salmon and Potato which is a higher protein @ 32%. Eventually, I switched her to large breed also. They are all doing great, no change in energy level, coats shiny and their poops are more solid. I had been feeding Acana Adult. I'm very pleased with the switch over and the price!

Good to know Gail. We may need to check that out, although I do love having our food delivered to the door!

I had forgot about this thread....funny thing.. We picked up our first bag of this stuff two days ago. Back when I made this thread I ended up staying with the same food we had been feeding. We just recently moved and there are no stores in this town that sell quality dog food so we decided to give this a try. Hopefully they do well on it. Fin, who is a picky eater is gobbling it up with no problem. Thanks for the info. I will report back in a few weeks with my results.
PS. I hope this doesn't spark another appearance by the little black book guy! ahhhh!

I hope not.... Another thing that I like about the PC brand large breed formula is that the pieces are large (the size of a mini wheat) so the dogs have to actually chew them. It has slowed my fastest eater down to a "normal" speed. Let us know how your dogs get on.

Im not sure if Fin would eat big pieces like that..but they would be great for slowing Dieter down!
