He is home! He is doing great. not throwing up, eating small bits of food to be safe and will remain on antibiotics for the next week. He is acting like his old self..full of energy. They suspect he swallowed a piece of toy that caused irritation in his stomach or intestine and probably led to a bit of an infection. So everything seems to be fine now...except our bank account.

Thanks everyone. He is still not out of the woods yet tho. First day home he did great. He had lots of energy. He was dying to eat any bit of food put in front of him. Next morning he was lazy again and didnt want to eat. He threw up once or twice that day and didnt eat anything. Next morning he is doing great again. Loads of energy and very good appetite. I make sure to give him very little servings so he doesnt upset his stomach. He does fine all day. This morning he threw up a little bit of bile and is back to being lazy with no appetite.

The vet told me nothing about feeding a bland diet and gave me that Medi-cal SH*T. I think im gonna throw the rest of it away(or give it to FIn as a treat..he loves it). Im thinking about just feeding him chicken, rice and maybe potato when he gets his appetite back this time.

What are some good bland ideas?

In the past I have just given my dogs boiled chicken and some rice. Hope he gets over his illness soon.

I fed Rocky white minute rice mixed with boiled chicken, a few( 2or3) table spoons every 2 hours in six feedings. Also kept his water bowl with just 1/2 cup of water at a time. My Vet told me if dogs drink too much water at a time it can throw them back to vomiting again during the stomach, digestive healing phase . Another tip to keep the water on a low level is just drop 3 or 4 ice cubes in the bowl letting the ice melt slowly. Glad Dieter is back home. Prayers continue for you.
