Yeah with the first prong I had trouble with the link - was too hard to re-latch so I got the Sprenger quick release.  That was hard to do at first cuz it fit snug but I am getting used to it. I also got another dog leash with the extra grab handle by the collar so I don't have to wrap it around my hand which hurts.  This worked well tonight.  I did try the Sporn with it and switched back to the prong -  prong works better with this leash - he walked well tonight.  Just gotta keep up the same routine - it's work but hopefully will pay off - I see improvement already!
