We do not have cable TV . . . as I have too many dogs to sit home and watch TV!! But I am watching online. The video of the GSPs seems to be loaded, but the page is not working yet. Of course, I already know who won as it was posted on FB. |

| I just watched the video on-line. I still say GSPs are the most beautiful dogs ever created. I'll definitely be watching tonight and rooting for the GSP to take it all! |

| I was able to watch the GSP before sporting group started. I purposely didn't read any of my facebook posters statuses so that I didn't know who won. :0) |

No TV here so I watch selected breed videos online. So, what kind of dog is that on the Westminister Kennel Club logo? I also watched the Plott and Redbone Coonhound videos. Some of the Redbones seemed to be hooligan hound dogs. When they were all trotting around the ring, I'd swear one of them raised his(her) head and barked. I wish there would have been the actual sound rather than the music. I wonder if it was a long hound dog howl-bark? All the GSP's seemed to be well behaved, at least compared to the Redbones. |

| I'm watching it. GSP is cool! I also like the German Wirehaired Pointer - that one looks like an old scruffy biker! |

| It is a Pointer on the logo. I was rooting for the GSP, but I also fell in love with the little black cocker. Was happy one of my picks won the group. I still have a soft spot for the black cockers. |

Jdog - All the dogs that end up in the goups and then BIS start out in the breed ring. One dog for each breed represented is picked as best in breed and they go on to compete in groups and then the group winners compete for Best in Show. The GSP is one of the breeds represented at Westminster. Now if your question refers to the dog in the logo, that is an English Pointer and not a GSP. Here is a excerpt from the history of the club that explains the pointer on the logo. "The Westminster Kennel Club was organized in the early 1870s and the club's early English import, "Sensation", is still used as the club logo." |

| Gosh, I thought the deerhound was beautiful and her movement was just so fluid when she went around the ring. I really liked her. I thought she stood out from the rest of the crowd out there for BIS. I also liked the little black cocker. |

| I'm sorry, and know that all dogs have a beautiful spirit... I just think that the Deerhound is kind of ... homely..Anyway I can't imagine how a judge can not be prejudiced just a little... if not a lot. I am sure they have their favorites. And in the end I think that is what happens... they are only human. |

| Sound funny but I am glad the GSP did not win best of group or god forbid BIS to often a win is followed by a spike in popularity of the breed by people looking for puppies. All to often this leads to dogs that are not really of breeding qaulity being bred just to meet the demand. To many fine breeds have over the years been ruined for their original purpose by getting to popular. When was the last time you saw a Cocker in the field? Or even an Irish Setter yes there are a few good hunting lines left but not many. GSP are wonderfull dogs great family pets as well as hunters but to let the demand out grow the supply of good quailty dogs would not be a good thing for the breed. The Lab and Lab mixes are now the second most euthanasid breed in shelters I would hate to think of this ever being the fate of any breed let alone the GSP. So let the GSP grow in popularity in a way that the demand can be met with good dogs bred by responsible breeders that care more for the dogs then the dallors they produce. Just my two cents worth. I will put up my soap box for the day. Really I will. |
