Hi everyone -
As most of you recall, we are trying to plan a meet-up of sorts for our shorthairs.net members. We decided that the best chance for this and the most semi-central location would be at the GSPCA Specialty Show in Wisconsin in May.
In prior discussions, we kicked around some ideas. As we are getting closer, I am just trying to get a head count of those who think they might be going or who are definetly going so others can decide if they want to come.
Please respond with the following information if you don't mind:
- Are you going? (Yes or Maybe)
- What dates?
- Where do you plan to stay? (Campground, Olympia Resort, Camping at the Resort, or elsewhere)
- Are you doing any events?
- Who are you bringing? (Dogs, family, kids, etc)
That will help us all get a better idea of what to expect from our little group!

Are you going? Maybe
What dates? Not sure- I want to see when the most people from our site will be there.
Where do you plan to stay? (Campground, Olympia Resort, Camping at the Resort, or elsewhere) We want to camp at the Olympia resort.
Are you doing any events? No events for us, we'll just be taking it all in.
Who are you bringing? (Dogs, family, kids, etc) Me, Husband Dave, baby Logan, and Osiris |

Are you going? (Yes or Maybe) Definitely, not sure of the dates, but thinking to get there on the Friday so can do the hunt tests and stay the week for obedience and conformation.
What dates?Arriving 29 Apr and staying thru 8 May

I wish I could so bad!! I have a wedding in Arizona in June so I am not going to be able to make this one, already am taking a week of leave from work.  |

3. Where do you plan to stay? Camping at the Olympia Resort
4. Are you doing any events? Striker is there for futurity (not sure what it is or when it is)
5. Who are you bringing? Entire family minus my horse...my, hubby, both boys, Blitz and Striker...think my grandma is even gonna go...
Can we get our sites yet for camping at the Olympia Resort? Do we call the resort or do we call GSPCA? |

3. Where do you plan to stay? Olympia Resort

5. Who are you bringing? Just my Husband.
6. My goal is to be around as many German shorthairs as I can in one spot, the breed I love sooo much. It will be German Shorthair earthly heaven for me!!! Hopefully there will be a group Picture!!

| splat - Don't see anything up on the website yet. If it works the same as when I went in 2009 the contact will be the club. I would expect them to put something up soon. |

3.. Where do you plan to stay?In Delafield, at LQ, but hanging out with Splat's setup.
4. Are you doing any events? Futurity, Sweeps, Classes and BOB, also Brood Bitch.
5. Who are you bringing? Part of the Singltrak Furtribe and me.

I would wait until the February issue of Shorthair Journal, there should be plenty of information in there, including a contact for RV spaces and other information. You'll also receive a premium in the mail (most likely, its been a long time since it was included with SJ) for Striker's entry. Remember to fill it out completely (questions, let me know). On RV parking tho, get that in asap as there may be a limited amount of space.
You guys who are thinking on planning a big shindig...there is an all-inclusive Margarita/Tattoo party held one of the nights of the NSS, also seminars, obedience, rally, adult and junior handling along with all the classes and other competitions (Tracking Test, Hunt Test). Between those and attending delegate and general membership meetings...trust me, there is plenty to do and lots of people to meet...and then, there are all the dogs. 
Marcia...Striker will be in 9-12 sweeps and also the 9-12 classes. Don't forget your DNA numbers on the entry form.

3. Where do you plan to stay? Not sure for the water/hunt test, but then Olympia Resort starting on Monday
4. Are you doing any of the events? Yes, at least the Water test (depends on what training I can get in for Junior Hunter testing), agility, obedience & conformation.
5. Who are you bringing? A good friend, and two of my dogs Maple and Java.
I too hope to get a good photo of the group and meet new GSP friends. I am very excited!

So Monday, 2 May, is the day of the Agility trials at the Olympia resort. I am off that day following a weekend of hunt tests and will be getting ready for the obedience and conformation. Anyone who wants to come hang out at my rig is more than welcome. I will be the one with the red Ford F150 with the fifth wheel (Cougar on the side) also known as the Shorthair Express by my friends (it has some shorthair decals on the rear). Just knock and introduce yourself. You will absolutely be greated by a chorus from my dogs. I will probably have Ringo, Halo and Fauna with me. Belle is probably going to stay with Grandma and Grandpa since she is not competing this year. If anyone is interested in a happy hour, let me know and I will get stuff for appetizers and you all can BYOB. I will likely have wine with me, but if you like something else, be sure you bring it. Can't wait to meet you guys.
If the GSPCA schedules something for that afternoon/evening, we may have to work around it, but for now consider yourself invited. |
