In the last week or so Trudy has taken up the new pasttime of digging up the flagstones on my patio.  She has always liked to eat rocks (sure glad I sprung for the AKC registry for a dog that eats rocks!) and would sometimes pick up the 1" x 2" filler rocks between the larger flagstones.  Sometime last week I came outside and she had dug up a ~4" x 4" rock and made a general mess by digging up the gravel, dirt and tearing through the tarp underneath.

She now perpetually digs up about the same 6 or so, some as large as 6x8.  I keep putting them back in their place and half-ass filling the dirt back in.  I even tried putting some of her poop underneath one of them (which worked pretty well to get her to stop digging in the garden).  I was planning on putting them all back in today and refilling the holes and gravel real nice, but it's raining here in Dallas.  I can't leave her outside for more than about 2 minutes before coming outside to discover them all dug up.

Stupid dog.

Our weekend at home together has also featured Ms. Trudy chewing through my coax and component cables in the living room and turning on the gas on the stove.  I guess she has a death wish.

I have the same trouble with Chase! The only difference is he digs to bury things. I have holes everywhere in my yard with god knows what burried in them, LOL. I did curb the problem with a kiddie pool. When the weather is warm he digs to cool off so with the pool he cools off in the water. I used the E-collar to stop him from digging in my gardens. I had to watch for him to do the deed and just a nick and a firm "no" did the trick. I would then show him his "dirt patch". I would get so frustrated when I went out and saw all my decorative bark and flowers all over the walkway or my tomatoes dug up. I had to put a small fence around my veggies and he still managed to reach through and pick them. For the longest time I thought my daughter was picking them when I kept finding them half eaten around the yard. Good luck and hope all works out ok. ANdrea

Maybe she smells a mouse or something under it. Get her some chew toys maybe that will help.
