Yesterday I noticed a lump on Bean, a little right off her shoulder, about the size of a grape and soft. Sort of the same area she was vaccinated in a week ago Friday. Yesterday on our walk, out of the blue she swiped her face with her paws, like she's been scratched/ stung / bit ? I don't think that is related to the lump...but ??? It doesn't appear to hurt, I'm keeping an eye on it, & will take her in if it doesn't go away...( Monday )..Meantime any ideas of a cause ? I was going to take a pic, but it's hard to see, depending on the light & angle..just looks like a welt.
Thanks for any advice
Our female will get a lump at the sight of where she had her vacination. I was thinking that it was a parvo shot that caused it. It did not show up for about 3-4 days after the shot.
It is also common for GSP's to get non malignant fat tumors. May want to have your vet check it.
Rogan has a soft fatty lump that you can feel is isolated just to the skin layer and he's about as lean as dogs get. I took him into the vet and was glad to shell out $30 for them to tell me it was fine, but that's just me. Some temporary reaction at an injection site doesn't seem unusual either. And all 3 of my dogs have little lumps where their chips have migrated as well.
Gotta run, getting dogs and sled put together to take kid out for a sled ride today.....
