We absolutely love her! Even our lab mix is starting to come around to her! Flygirl the only marking she has in on her chest, nothing under the pits. Everbell: we added pumpkin to her food and it help but once we went back to regular food the diarrhea was back instantly. We are thinking it may have something to do with the iams puppy chow so we switched. Actually going to try Cosco (kirkland) food and see how she does on it. |

I don't know, it looks as though your lab mix is saying "Mom/Dad, HELP!" |

I may have missed something in the thread but has she been checked for giardia? Just a thought. My daughter's dog had it and its really a pain to get rid of, but I think they have it under control. Nothing worse than a dog with the poopies.. |

really havent looked into it a lot yet. We called the vet and he didnt seemed worried. Told me to hold off on the food for a day and slowly get her back on it. I have a feeling its still a little stress from her surgery. Other than the poops that one night she has been nothing but crazy energy. Now i know what a high energy dog truly is |

She sure is a cutie. I'm responding here because I just joined today and can't seem to figure out how to start a new post. I am fostering a 16mo. GSP with big sepration anxiety and looking for help. I'm a dobe person for close to 40 yrs. This little girl has not had a good start in life and with already 4 owners and 3 that brought her back when out on trial. Lucy is very sweet and intelligent. I'm 77 and new to this breed. Help. |

| she is one nice looking pup!!! My Xara is around 42 lbs at 18 months, she's long and leggy right now but we are beginning to see some filling out in the chest and butt so I figure she might max out at about 45-47 lbs full size. I love her size, not too big, not too small and I know you will love yours no matter what size she gets! |

Nancy D., there should be a box "Start New Topic" right over the blue bar on the message listing page. Click on that. There have been several discussions about similar problems and I'm sure you'll get good advice. And bless your heart for helping her. |

All forms are different, and for the life of me, I'm not seeing the "Start New Topic". Am I supposed to be looking under Forms, General, General Discussion? Sorry to be such a pain, but I really need help with this little girl. |

an update: Izzy now ways a little over 30lbs and seems to be building muscle now more than anything. Crazy level of energy and so much fun to be with. As you can see below she loves her food bowl and takes it everywhere.
Question: She is still very shy around people. I take her out and around as much as possible but it seems its not helping much. Lots of hiding when people come over, barking and what not. She does warm up after a while but is not at ease. Sometimes i feel as if she is the girl on 50 first dates. She wakes up and barks at me sometimes in the same bed. Besides that little flaw that i do beleive we are moving forward on but its been rather slow. Also bothers me when everyone asks "whats wrong with your dog, have you hit her" errrrrr
anyways some pics!

Oh she's gorgeous!! I'd suggest getting her into some training classes! Helps build a bond between you and her and gets her out around other people and dogs! Your trainer should also be able to give you some tips as to how to make things better when strangers come in. I try to use some techniques like keeping their focus on me and have them sitting for a treat and reward for being calm when someone comes to our house. I will also ask that my visitors not give any attention until the dogs are sitting & calm near them, but you may hand your visitor a treat and see if she would come to them and sit for a treat. The treat will associate something good with the visitors. Best of luck! She's a doll! |

Awww, she's a little sweetheart! She will grow a little more and fill out a bit but just because she's small doesn't mean she'll be larger than life!! Good luck and have fun, they're great dogs |

I live that last pic of her ... we get the "don't you feed your dogs" comment/look quite often ... People often speak before thinking. Pity them and help educate them (no, my dog is an extreme athlete not an overweight golden retriever ...) She has come along so nicely -- she will probably be a pocket GSP, like my Shiraz, who is barely 40 lbs soaking wet. But MAN, can she go! |

| Izzy looks like a female version of my Bearoff. He also carries his food dish around after eating. He ransoms it for a dog biscuit. He has me trained. |

| She is looking awesome. I wouldn't make a big deal of her fearfulness. It could be a phase she is going through, but you can help her by building her confidence. The training is a good way to do that. Also, don't let folks pressure her. Have them sit and ignore and let her come to them. If she comes to them, they can offer a treat. Otherwise, they should ignore her. I would also take her wherever you can and socialize her every chance you get. The more experiences she has the more she will learn to cope. Just be patient and she will get there. When they are older I love to train agility and flyball as both are great confidence builders for dogs. |
