Thought this would be a fun thread since so many of our GSP’s have such great personalities.
So what is the silliest thing you GSP does?
Birdie is fascinated with her paws, and she will brush her face with her paws and chew them, then rolls on her back to try to get all four paws in her mouth, it’s a riot to watch. |

Silliest or most annoying....Blitz makes a chewbacca sound... I think mine are silliest when they play with my kids...it is hard to pin it down to a specific thing... or maybe silliest is when they tease each other with their toys...Blitz will walk around with a toy in his mouth and then put it down right in front of Striker and then when Striker goes to take Blitz quickly gets it and walks away... |

I'd have to say that is Remi's too....he loves taunting his siters with toys. He will waltz past them in this proud trot like he is just all that, then stop, look at them and bring the toy to them just so its close enough he can still reach. Then, as they go for it, snatch it back up and prance away.
OR, when he "hunts" his sisters outside. I take all 3 outside to potty and Remi is still on a leash or he just messes around too much. Well, after he has gone, he will seek out one of them in the yard, go on point and "hunt" them. He's a hoot to watch. |

Pouty/Old Man Face ALWAYS makes me laugh!

Other then that he's just a crazy puppy and most of the stuff he does is goofy.
He does like to put his bones or rawhides on me when he's eating them. He likes me to hold them for him. |

I think they ALL make the chewbacca noise Razzie loves to play with her wubba in the yard and will literally whip herself around in 360 degree circles with all her feet in the air She is silliness personified (or should that be dogified?) Bo is a much more serious guy and doesn't really have the sense of humour Shiraz does ... |

When my mom's cat is sitting in the recliner in the living room Zeke will bring one of his toys, set it in front of the cat in the chair, step back, and then get all excited. I still don't know what he's excited about. Maybe he hopes the cat will play with him? |

Cool thread!
Casey "one-shoes" me when I get home, or when we are about to go for a walk. I have single shoes lying everywhere...

And in the past when he has been acting up, he has nose-butted a few people the groin. (Like a hard straight poke with his nose, like he is aiming for it). Hard not to laugh... |

Ooo ... just thought of something Bo does. He loves to put both his fron paws on my shoulder and S-T-R-E-T-C-H. Plus, this puts him in the perfect position to get arm pit scratches |

After eating Bearoff takes his food dish and carries it off. (He bears it off) He won't let me have it unless I give him a dog biscuit. He also normally carries off Jenny's empty dish too. I can ususally get one without being extorted for a biscuit. |

| Dax has one thats entertaining and annoying. My sisters puppies were trained to ring a bell on the door when they have to go out. Dax learned this fairly quickly just by watching them. The kicker is, any/every time I sit down to eat, he will ring the bell non stop. It doesn't matter if he was just taken out 30 seconds before. Not sure if its because hes jealous that I have food and he doesn't or what. He won't give up either haha |

Xara? Silly??? no way!!!!! HAHAHA!!!! I swear everything she does is silly! Like pointing and barking at the bird pictures on the wall, taking her rope bone and "vacuuming" the rug with it, laying on her back and attempting to chew her feet and getting mad at them when they don't cooperate so she growls and "attacks" them, standing at the crate door with her rope bone whining because she wants to take it in her crate and bury it in her blankets, laying in my lap, tipping her head back and looking like a fruit bat!
(Can't figure out how to do a embedded pic, here is the link)

Java, my puppy that I posted the video on for barking and playing with the measuring cup has since conquered that. She has moved on now to the door stop. It is one of those that is made of a spring with the cap on the end. What makes it really funny is that our border collie is obsessed with it. He just wants to watch it to make sure it does not move. Then comes Java who swats at it with her foot and barks at it. The border collie was in awe as he cannot bring himself to touch it, he just has to make sure it does not get away (in other words he has a strong herding instinct).
Now Maple, my older GSP, of course, I don’t this is think it is too funny when it happens, but to get me up, she steals my pillow! She is quite sneaky about it. Then she dances all around the room so proud of what she has done that I have to laugh. She wiggles and prances and just has that sparkle in her eyes. Silly, silly girl. She knows how to get what she wants. |

Roz - Fauna does the same thing with the door stops. It is hilarious because she will swat it and get it vibrating and then sit there and bark at it. My other dogs think she is crazy. I guess it is in the genes. She started playing with the door stops when she was about 10 weeks old. In the mornings when Belle wants me up she knows better than to make a sound of bug me, so she walks quietly into the bedroom and stands in the middle of the room and shakes her head which causes her ears to flop. Sounds like a helicopter reving up in the morning quiet. If I don't move she will stand there waiting about 5 minutes and then repeats her performance. Now with the puppy it only takes one round of ear flopping because it wakes the Fauna up and she wakes everyone up at that point. Halo is the Queen of Sighs. If she is mad at me or is not getting her way she will sit down in front of me and look at me and sigh. It is absolutely hilarious. Halo also will steal the fabric softner sheets and take them into the living room and carefully place them on the floor and lay down next to them and rollover on her back on top of the sheet and wiggle back and forth on her back. Hilarious, but she does come out smelling nice. Ringo is the pack clown, he can just look at me and make me laugh. He loves the fabric sheets almost as much as Halo and will do the same thing, but the thing that really makes me laugh with him is when he runs in the back yard. I have a 6 foot wooden fence and he has perfected the art of using the fence as a rebound board. He will get to running and will leap at the fence usually hitting it will all fours at about the 5 foot mark using it to rebound off of and get going the other direction. Kind of like a swimmer turn. I have never seen a dog do this before. Also at the back door when he wants in he does not jump on the door, but he jumps up and down like he has springs in his legs. He can easily jump straight up about 4 feet or so from a stand. He will bounce at the door all day until I let him in. |

Wow I think all of these dogs are related lol I can identify with so many of the things you all have pointed out, most recently the ear flapping and dryer sheet stealing, Birdie is such a clown. It is truly an honor to see this pup develope, I really can't wait to get another. But will wait and get her trained and developed first. I have really enjoyed reading your post's and look forword to more silly GSP antics. |

Bev - that's funny that Fauna does the same thing with the door stop. Today I called my daughter when I was on my home, and she held the phone up for Java to hear me. Taylor said she was going crazy looking for me. I could hear her barking! I do believe that she is attached to me. |

I have a female, Seiben, that when your in the yard with her walks a very tight heal next to you her head bumping you and you may even get an affectionate chew on your elbow. But it is all a ruse; because she is a very, very good pick-pocket. She has managed to steal pagers, cards, glasses, a phone or two and even a wallet without detection over the years. I f she is out where you may be working keep a sharp eye on your hand tools! |

Cooper does many of the things that other posters have described, including making the Chewbacca sound when he yawns, making the helicopter noise when he shakes his ears each morning, rolling around in dryer sheets; one-shoed greeting; toy taunting; and looking backwards up at us like a fruit bat. Other quirks: he is obsessed with lights and reflections and will stare/point/chase if he catches a even a glimpse; runs back and forth across the trails (in and out of the woods) at the dog park; rubs his body all over the only carpeted floor in the house each morning prior to going out to pee; makes a high-pitched bark whenever he spots a bird in a tree in the yard or at the dog park; etc. But the SILLIEST thing he does... he is really picky about treats and human food. If we give him an apple slice, baby carrot, piece of cantaloupe, deli-style turkey, piece of chicken, pretzel/chip he will scarf it down. And of course he loves to lick all plates clean when given the opportunity to do so. But if we give him salami, summer sausage, or other meats and random foods/treats, he will take them in his mouth, run off to a different room with them (either to the baby's carpeted floor or his dog bed in the den), throw them down onto the ground/dog bed, then back up a few feet, sit down, and just watch the food. Sometimes he decides to eat the food after careful examination, other times he will not. It is the STRANGEST thing!! The best part is the way he trots off with the food when he does this! Whenever we give him a dog treat or chew treat, he trots off to the carpeted floor or his dog bed to eat. And whenever we give him a raw hide bone he trots of with it and throws it around the room for a while before he settles down to eat it. (Other times he carries the raw hide around with him everywhere he goes for 1-3 days before eating it. Ha!) Does anyone's GSP do these weird things with food and treats? Gotta love their quirks!! |

GSP's have to be one of the goofiest breeds, I think--and part of why I love them so much! They have plenty of drive and work ethic, but are just goofballs too! The silliest/weirdest thing my yougest GSP Ozzy does: he gets a toy in his mouth and goes to his dog bed and sort of digs at it. He takes his front legs and tries to push it backwards, under him, almost like humping but he's not humping it. It's very bizarre and he's done it since he was a little pup. He also tries to get as many tennis balls in his mouth as he can...so far his record is three LOL!!! He's so obsessed with tennis balls that if we are out playing disc, and he sees a tennis ball on the ground, he will stop and put that in his mouth along with the disc. They are such dorks! |
