| Splat - The GSPCA will post the info about the sites for RVs when it gets closer to the Nationals and you make your reservations through them. They coordinate the spot you will be in and everything. They then collect the money from you sometime during the week before you leave. I don't think they will have us go through the Olmpia for RVs. |

Just to clarify that you do not have to be a member of the GSPCA in order to come and watch a National Specialty. You also do not have to be a member to enter an event or to vlounteer to steward, but you do have to enter in advance. Premium lists are usually mailed to GSPCA members, but many people are not members and just go to the AKC web site to get the information. If your dog is competing, it must be AKC DNA profiled to compete in any of the GSPCA sponsoired events. (The hunt tests and one obedience and rally trail are GSPC of Wisconsin, so a DNA # is probably not required to compete in those.) But coming to spectate, meet and greet, hang out, is open to GSP fanciers one and all. Non-GSPs are welcome and often attend (they cannot enter, of course), just be aware that there are lots of dogs, so dogs must know to ignore and just pass on by. One last note: the hunt tests will be nearby, I assume, but not (obviously) at the host hotel. This year, agility wil be on the grounds. It is often elsewhere, too. People stay at the host hotel, but many stay in area motels and drive back and forth. I hope to be there, not sure yet, but will leave as soon as obedience is over, since I have senior dogs at home, for whom an approx 900 mile trip is too grueling. Eleanor in NJ |

| Caryl - I don't know the answer to your question, but when they post the info on RV reservations on the GSPCA website you should be able to call and ask them. I would guess that it would probably be ok though. |

| Just added a flashing running message on the GSPCA national Specialty for Wisconsin DNA# on entry form will be needed . I really do not understand that. What if you have a neutered Rescue with a ILP #, do you need a DNA number?? |

| Also want to mention, when I map quested Pointer Hunt Club Brownsville where the hunt field trial hunt test and water retrieve will be located is 46.7mi from our house. The main hotel where we will be staying and others camping at the Olympia is 88.37 mile from my house. Those 2 locations are 42.17 miles apart. It is an easy 2 lane country drive with no big cites lots of farm country to see. |

Thank you Phyllis, I have elected myself as the Shorthairs.net Hospitality. welcoming , information about the area Chairperson! Want all who are traveling to this area to be knowledgeable and be in for no surprises to make your visit to Wisconsin fun and spectacular. I will be posting from time to time on this thread any new information I find out to better help you.
A bonus surprise for you is that you will be in the area of the HORICON MARSH!!! Horicon Marsh is the largest cattail marsh consisting of 32,000 acres ( Kekoshee, Lomira , Mayville Waupon , Fond du Lac and surrounding areas)
So when ever traveling around when you hear Honking , look up into the sky and you may see a "V "formation of Canadian Geese migrating from the south to the north in early spring. Goose hunting the Horicon Marsh area is begins in middle of Sept. Our first shorthair , Poge retrieved his first goose at 7 months old in Waupun.

I have a request...Kringle, or Kringel or however....yummiest pastry! When the 1993 NSS was in Racine, that was one of the features in the hospitality room every morning.. Fresh, warm, just amazing! LOL! Phyllis and the Furtribe |

I will be going to Mattie's Bakery ( mennonite) Spring Lake WI and will ask if she bakes kringles and will bring some of each if she does. Should be great if we have microwaves to heat up.
Also want to mention , Wisconsin is great for Friday night fish frys!! All the local taverns, supper clubs restaurants and church halls have Friday Night Fish frys. Oconomowoc, I am sure has several locations for Friday Night Fish Frys. Ask locals where to go for the best Friday Night Fish fry if you are here on those nights. |

Marie: as to the DNA number. ILP dogs do NOT need to be DNA profiled. All regsitered GSPs, no matter how old, whether or not ever bred, spayed, neutered or not, must be DNA profiled. And DNA numbers are only required, of course, for dogs being entered in any of the GSPCA events. (Not sure about the GSP of Wisconsin Hunt Tests, but maybe not.) Eleanor in NJ |
