2nd the Deer antlers. Our breeder/trainer got our pup started on them and she loves them. She has had one for about 2 mos now and just shaved down the tip some. I just get mine from people that deer hunt and have shot one too small to mount. Can also find sheds in the woods.
Didn't think about getting them online, please share where you get them if you don't mind. Even my sisters standard poodle likes to chew on them. |

I got my antlers from the following folks:
www.petexpertise.com/dog-toys/antler-chews.html
I bought the Large, but I think next time I may try the XL. I ordered three because I have three dogs and one of the three antlers was allot bigger than the other two. I have to say though that so far all they had done is grind down one end a bit.
These seem to work better than anything else I have tried. Nylabones are gone in no time. Same with anything rubber. Although I have a rubber toy made by Orca that looks like a big jack that seems to be holding up. The only thing is Ringo doesn't chew on it all that much. Still anything else rubber, even kongs, are gone in minutes. The times he has chewed on his Orca toy it has held up well. |

| I guess I'm lucky..Leena is not much of a chewer..however, I am coming from the world of Labs and Goldens. She sticks to her bully stix and marrow bones. She does have a couple of the large, very hard nylabones..she isnt too into them though. |

When Marley was a puppy we'd freeze peanut butter in the black kong and give it to her only in her kennel. This way it kept her busy in the kennel when we were out, plus she made the association that the kennel was a great place because she got peanut butter...her favorite. We also used the nylabone, but to this day she prefers a real bone (we bought it in a pet store..I do not rememebr the name). She hasn't gone through it yet and she chews it everyday. As for walking nicely, I'm also a runner and thought I'd never get her to run with me because she was all over the place. Then one day I just started to run and pulled her into place. She fought it for a couple of hundred yards but quickly caught on. She actually ran better with me than walking. I think it was because she didn't have the time to sniff, instead she had pay attention to me. At first I'd split the time between running and walking...half mile run...quarter mile walk....quarter mile run. Because of the running, I think it forced her to keep position and when we walked she just stayed in the position. Plus when we got home, she was tired and would sleep the entire morning/afternoon. I started when she was about 5 months old and we quickly built up to a mile in a week or so. Depending where you live, you'll have to watch her to make sure she doesn't get overheated, especially when you are starting your new routine. Now we run about 30 minutes straight almost every day. I come back tired and she isn't even panting! |

We use rawhides, knotted ropes and plastic bottles. Make sure you superglue the lid of the bottles on. (gatorade bottles work the best) The only other suggestion is introducing a laser pen to the dog. My pup will entertain herself for an hour looking for the dang red dot after we put the pen away. - only drawback is we eventually had to actually take and hide the desk drawer that the pen was in because she knew where the dot was hiding. |

I refuse to give rawhides. I am confident that Bo would shred a plastic bottle in minutes. Although with my boxer puppy, I would freeze water in a plastic bottle, which was a great for teething. Bo's already destroyed a few ropes too--along with the tennis balls that were attached. I am heading to the butcher today for a big, raw bone! |

| I've never had good luck with rawhides. They always gave my dogs diarrhea. :p |

| I get them huge raw marrow bones (cow leg sawn in half I think) once a week from the butcher. They aren't allowed them unsupervised in case a chunk of bone is swallowed. I prefer them after the meat is stripped off (upsets stomaches!). It kept them quiet for a couple of hours this afternoon when I was working on the laptop. Chucked in the bin after a week and they're free. |

I also like the knuckle bones, they are all natural. I started giving them to Ruby & Sadie when they were 9wks old !!! Their eyes would get as big as silver dollars when I would bring this 4lbs knuckle bone home to them. They would chew on it for hours, and their pretty indestructible. They still have 2 of the ones I bought when they were pups. That was about 2yrs ago I also give my dogs rawhide. I get the compressed kind, and make sure it's made in USA. |

I just came from a butcher shop. I got a big bone (some kind of joint), for $3! I'm sure Bo will love it. |
