Have you ever seen this?  I took her to the vet and they said to just watch it and were not concerned.  It is not raised, not crusty, still has little hairs on it, it has just lost its pigmentation.  That side of the lip looks the same as the other, just lacking color.  She does run her nose smelling where animals have been, i.e. the oak tree, pecan tree, fence, etc.  I don't recall it ever being red, but perhaps.  Do you think it is just a scar now?

Roz - I can't see the picture, but I am guessing it is the result of a scratch or where she got stung or stuck. Mine get that all the time. Drives me crazy because Halo tends to get them on her nose just before a show. I never see them either until they are at the white scar looking stage. I would watch it, but expect it will go away on its own with a little time.

I've re-posted the picture for you.

Bo has something similar on his snout, but not as big. It's like the velvet has been rubbed off, but not sore or red. he also has what looks like a little white, slightly-raised lump on his lip that has never changed -- again, not red, not sore. I'm with the watch and wait school.

Bearoff had something similar on his lip. I was thinking he got stung by a yellow jacket since he likes to eat apples and yellow jackets are on the apples that are on the ground under the trees. Speculation though. It went away after a few weeks. It didn't seem sore or anything. Bearoff's spot was on the side in his whiskers.

My dog has something similar on his lower lip. I always thought it might be a dental issue. Though it has never gotten any bigger.
