I love the snow pics with the dogs burrowed deep in the snow. Do they dig your yards up as well ? Bean digs on her walks, in certain areas...She digs trenches, dig,dig,dig...then looks at it and jumps HARD with her two front feet..dig,dig,dig, then bites the turf/dirt.... Some places are private property, and I heel her, so she doesn't have the chance to dig....Once in awhile she'll dig in our yard...THIS I DO NOT LIKE ....
I'm experimenting with a new training tactic>> One area on our walk is a no dig zone, instead of heeling her, I let her have slack, and say "NO DIG"...been practicing quite awhile, and it has worked....So at home when I let her out to pee...I say NO DIG....so far it has been about 75% positive...BUT>>> with the rain and cold and snow, she usually wants back in soon.
Spring and Summer, I'm still worried about her digging. We like to leave her outside as much as possible, since we are out as well...........Although not always within eye shot !
Anyone have any good NO DIG tricks ? I know it's only January...but I like to think ahead.
My husband spends hours during the summer moving water hoses, in attempt to keep our lawn green....I say have auto sprinklers installed...HE SAYS " I'm retired.. it keeps me busy "
The BEAN holes in the back yard.....don't go over toooo well
PS we have MOLES as well...fewer since Bean moved in...
