Earlier tonight I took Adenine out to pee one last time before bedtime.  However, as we came back inside a dragonfly flew in the door.  Adenine was going to nuts as it flew around the kitchen making all sorts of weird noises.  He even briefly pointed at it.  Anyway, it eventually flew low enough for him to snag it and he proudly carried his prize to his mat.

Adenine is a 2 year old GSP.

Mine love to chase whatever flies, locusts are the latest craze here and we have a ton of them this year. Other favs are crickets, June bugs, moths, flies, etc. Halo even catches and kills the big red hornets. She even does it without getting stung. I think she is protecting her sister, Belle, because Belle always has bad reactions to stinging bugs and I usually have to give her a shot. Halo has taught Ringo to kill the red hornets too, but I think he may have gotten popped by one because he is not as enthusiastic as she is about them.

Too cute! We have a butterfly chaser in our house! He also loves eating ants - so strange! :)

LOL yep Xara is a moth hunter and whines the same way when she can't reach them. However, Adenine was much more patient than Xara is, she bowls anything and everyone over in her haste to catch her prize

I have taken comfort in knowing that if Adie never turns out to be a good bird dog I could allways live on butterflys and moths.
