When people we guessing this size of the litter, I was thinking a baker's dozen.

Wishing the best to you and Halo, and will check the site frequently for new of the births.

Sounds like you and Halo have a fun-filled 6 weeks or so ahead of you.

Thought I would give everyone and update.  Looks like Halo is going to fool me and the vet and carry her litter to full term. She is due Tuesday.  She got me a little excited earlier today because her temp dropped, but then it went back up and all she does is eat, poop, and sleep.  She is hilarious when she sleeps because she flips over on her back. Guess it is more comfortable.

As I was typing this Halo came into my office and laid down next to me and I got this picture.  As I said her favorite position now is laying on her back.

Just FYI - not all girls drop and stay down in temp. Some drop and bounce back up - or so my vet always says. Mine tend to drop and stay down. Any nesting behavior?

My vet warned me that the temp might not drop or might drop and come back up, but she is not nesting. Just wants to stay with me and sleep. I don't think it will be tonight. Will take her temp one more time tonight to see where she is at.

I hope she has them before Wed too. I don't think it will be tonight though. Temps are staying at 100 and she is not showing any signs of nesting.

My experience has so far been that the girls made it very obvious to me when the time was drawing near. They have always nested first. Rosie just rearranged stuff incessantly, where Willow was more destructive, actually shredded blankets, a couch cushion, etc. In the last two hours or so, they were very agitated, couldn't get comfortable, wanted to be in my lap all the time. Then within a half hour of passing the first pup, they think they have to poop, which is the urge to push. I let them go out and watch them like a hawk (with a flashlight, all our litters have come after dark) until they aren't passing any more stool, then make them stay in even though they are worried they will poop on the floor.

Jean - I suspect that Halo will follow the same pattern your girls have followed. Right now she is sleeping peacefully on the floor of my office. Laying on her back of course. Don't think it will be tonight, unless something changes dramatically.

Yeah and she thinking "Whose idea was it to carry around 12 puppies in July and August?" and "Turn up the air and get out the fan."

No puppies yet, but she has quit eating and her temp has dropped a stayed down. She has also trashed a crate pad trying to make a nest. I think we are getting closer.

I got emails from Bev until around 9 or so her time, and it seemed clear last night was going to be showtime, so I am sure you're right. Now we wait!

Checked this site last night before I went to work, for news of the puppies. Just got home, and checked, before I'm off to bed. I'm hoping that when I wake up this afternoon, Halo will have delivered. Good Luck, Halo and Bev!
