I finally had a couple of old (1987) photos scanned of my first GSPs as puppies.  You can probably tell which one grew up to be The Best Dog Who Ever Lived, and which one was known as "The German Shorthair from H*ll!"  (I may have to do this in 2 posts.)

(Oh nuts, I should have resized.

So the first one was the rascal and the second one was the angel?? Just guessing! I think I could tell by the look on the first ones face....it says so much with those narrowed eyes!

Yes, you're all right--the first one is Clio, and her expression is "I'm supposed to get off this sofa?  DREAM ON!"  Stubborn, independent, she got by on beauty and turning on the charm when it suited her!  Pepper was sweet, good-natured, a little goofy, and, as I said, the best dog who ever lived.  I miss them both, but having them led to my current GSPs, so, life goes on!

Beautiful puppies and yes the attitude is in the face and eyes.

Gunnar, that threw me until I realized I'd scanned that old photo onto Photobucket--no, he was a great racehorse back in the 1960's--very popular, sort of "the Black Stallion come to life," (except that he was a gelding!).

Way to much debate there for me ;) Though I am a big Mike Smith fan. I used to live around the corner from Belmont now I'm about a mile away.
